I’ve been using the TRESemmé Extra Hold Hairspray for about a year now, and it’s hands down one of the most reliable products in my routine. It delivers exactly what it promises — strong, lasting hold without turning your hair stiff or sticky. Whether I’m styling for a long workday or a night out, it keeps everything in place from morning to night. What really makes it stand out is the Pro Lock Tech formula. It gives that firm, all-day control while keeping frizz in check, even in humid weather. My hair still feels soft to the touch, not crunchy, which is rare for an extra hold spray. It’s also easy to brush out, so I can restyle without residue or buildup the next day. I’ve tried a lot of hairsprays over the years, but none hit the same balance of hold, texture, and clean finish like this one. Great value. This spray has great hold. I don’t need to use very much to keep my hair in place. The sprayer works well. The plastic cap was intact. Very easy to apply. I’d but it again. Not overly scented. Typical hairspray scent.

I mainly use this for styling my bangs and slicking down pieces around my face, and it works really well for that. The hold lasts all day, even in humidity, and one thing I really appreciate is that it does not leave a noticeable white cast or flaky residue in my dark hair. It definitely gives a strong hold though, so your hair will feel crunchy and sticky after spraying. Personally, that’s exactly what I want for keeping my bangs in place, but if you prefer softer, touchable hair that you can run your fingers through, this probably is not the best option.

This is actually a huge bottle. I thought it would be smaller since its such a low price. This hairspray holds my hair much better than others I have tried. The scent is nice as well. It doesn't make my hair super glossy or wet appearing

As a hairstylist of 26 years, this isn’t something I would personally reach for when creating today’s softer, more modern styles. It gives a very firm, stiff hold that doesn’t allow for much movement. That said, I’ve been working with more senior clients lately, and for that purpose, it works very well. If you’re looking for a strong, long-lasting hold that keeps hair in place all day, this definitely delivers. The ingredients aren’t the best, which is something to be aware of, but for the price and the level of hold you get, it’s a solid option. If you want super structured, set-in-place hair at an affordable price, this does the job.
