GM-80 Vacuum (HEPA) (Residential-01790032)

Best Vac ever! For years I wanted this vac but price kept me away. Finally pulled the trigger and oh boy dies it not disappoint! It vacs so well that my hardwood floors look like I also mopped them at the same time. The sturdy quality is reminiscent of things build in the 50s. Awesomeness!

It took a little assembly to get this machine to work, but it was well worth it. The quality is outstanding, the performance stunning and the ease of use just plain there. The vacuum is all stainless steel, with an easy accessible filter holder in the bottom. The bag is large and after a few uses still less than 1/8 full. That does not mean this vacuum does not vacuum well, because it does. The day I got it is when the cleaning lady had just come. I vacuumed the rug in the living room and extracted about a 1/2 pound of dog hair from it. The rug looked cleaner than it had in years. The machine is powerful, very quiet, easy to roll around, does not leave the awful smell the other vacuums left in the room, has a nice long handle and tube and is not that heavy. The only downside is that there is no auto cord or a decent place to roll the cord up. I end up slapping it around the top.

I have had this vacuum for 11 years, ( use it a few months out of the year) and it works like the day I bought it! Very easy to drag behind you, love the long cord and , yes, you just have to roll it and plop it on top ( I use a velcro strap to attach it) , the bag lasts a very long time and I put a couple of moth balls in the bag so the dirt doesn't smell after a while. I find it a bit louder than the Miele vacuums and it gives off a lot of heat, these are small negatives when compared to the many huge ++'s this vacuum has. You can easily disconnect the cord from the unit so you will never have the problem of twisted cord inside its casing ( my cleaning ladies always manage to roll the cord the wrong way). This is the best vacuum cleaner I have ever had.

Bough this vacuum to clean out industrial pollutants carried by ore trucks through our tiny town 20 years ago when our children were small. It has been a super performer with consistent use and few replacement parts. Replaced the hose about 5 years ago and now the brush and upholstery attachments need replacing. I'm no mechanic but did not have problems following the instructions to put the parts together when shipped. It's an investment for sure but certainly worth it if you care about not putting it all back into the atmosphere after going to the work of cleanup

definitely has suction power. wouldnt use another vacuum. my own personal R2D2 .... lifesaver for mold and lead dust abatement
