I bought this when I started shaving with my new Muhle R89 razor about 2 weeks ago. I really soothes my skin after shaving. I love it. Goes on with a slight burning sensation typical of after shaves. Great sandalwood scent that doesn't overpower. The fragrance is initially strong, filling my nose with a great woody scent that I just love and look forward to every morning, but the scent quickly recedes into the background after it's wiped all over my face and neck. It's a foundation layer of scent that I catch little whiffs of throughout the day. Note that I'm not the kind of guy that wants to be smelled from a distance. My scent layering is intended to be subtle and smelled up close by me throughout the day, but not by anyone else. Let's put it this way, after I've completed my morning routine, including cologne, my wife can't smell me when we're in the car together. So, you don't have to worry about it being overpowering. It's not. I see it as a great base scent on which to build an overall scent. I believe that citrus and floral scents compliment this very well. I combine it with 2 light spritzes of Hollister Jake cologne and I really like that combination because the Jake has a more citrus/floral scent with a base woody scent that compliments this very well. I just happened to have the Hollister Jake as I got it as a gift a couple of years ago, but never used it until now. I really like the combination and I'll probably order more of that too once it runs out. All it takes is one squirt - about a pea sized amount. I initially used 2 squirts, but that left my face way too oily and I had to dab it off. As it is, I have to dab a little with a towel even with 1 squirt. Absorbs into my skin after a few minutes and leaves my face softer than its ever been in my entire life. Just incredible. The combination of the extremely close shave and the softness of my face from this product is just amazing. Baby But Smooth and soft. However, my face has been very shiny since I started shaving with a DE razor. Some of that I attribute to the incredibly close shave, but some of it I think comes from this product. I've ordered some Clubman Pinaud talc and I'm hoping that it will knock down the shiny complexion and add another complimentary scent layer. We will see. I also use the Lather & Wood Sandalwood Pre-Shave oil. I bought that at the same time that I bought this and it smells the same. Note that I didn't do the subscription because I didn't know if I was going to like it or not, but I believe that I'll do a subscription after I learn how long this bottle lasts.

I recently tried this aftershave lotion, and it was great! It left my skin feeling smooth and refreshed without any irritation. The scent is clean and not overpowering, and it absorbs quickly, leaving no greasy residue. I had been looking for a decent aftershave balm that smelled good and the sandalwood scented version of this product fits the bill. The sandalwood scent is strong and I did not put a whole lot on my face. It moisturizes your face well and kept my face face soft all day. Pros 1. A little goes a long ways. ..(it had better for a 2oz bottle that costs $16) You don't have to put a whole lot on to feel the benefits. 2. The sandalwood version (it also comes in a non-scented version) smells great and the scent is strong.I could still smell the scent on my face after an 8 hour work day. 3. Very good moisturizer, non greasy. I have combo skin and I felt it helped my dry skin while not causing any oiliness in other parts of my face. Cons 1. Price! That's the only reason I give it 4 stars. Maybe I can use some of my Amazon Chase points to purchase the next bottle..lol. 2. STOP using alcohol based aftershave, and START using Lather & Wood After-Shave Balm, I promise you will never go back. I always used to think the burn of an alcohol based aftershave was a necessary part of shaving, and if you didn't have the burn you were going to get razor burn and razor bumps. Boy, was I wrong. I was hesitant to make this purchase, as I have sensitive skin that blemishes easily, and I've always been insecure about acne and razor burn/bumps after shaving, so I avoided anything creamy or that didn't have alcohol - thinking that was the best choice for me. This after-shave balm completely changed my perspective. The after-shave balm goes on light and non-greasy, has an amazing feel to it, makes my skin feel soft and protected, provides a deep moisturizing feel, does not cause acne, and best of all smells INCREDIBLE. My skin has never felt better after shaving. I would highly recommend pairing with the Lather & Wood Sandalwood shaving soap. After I decided to pull the trigger on investing in a wet shaving setup, I was looking for a a nice soap and aftershave to pair with it. After some searching, I landed on Lather & Wood products, and decided to give it a try. I initially purchased the Bay Rum scent along with Sandalwood. While Lather & Wood's Bay Rum scent is, in and of itself, fantastic for those who like it, it wasn't for me. This Sandalwood scent on the other hand is so unique, refreshing, and amazing, with strong but not overpowering woodsy, earthy, smoky, and mature notes, like walking through a fresh sandalwood grove on a crisp fall afternoon, it is unlike any other Sandalwood scent I've ever smelled on the market. Most shaving soaps or aftershaves I've smelled that claim to be sandwalwood have an old chemical perfumey smell to them that gives me a headache. This after-shave balm is the complete opposite, and I promise you will feel so refreshed and confident as you get whifts of this amazing scent throughout the day. Do yourself a favor and give this after-shave balm a chance, and you will not be disappointed. I swear by this company and this product. Bought this as a gift, apparently it smelled really nice but had a bad sticky texture.

I’ve ordered and used this balm before and liked it very much. Soothing lotion with a nice understated Sandlewood aroma. Good price.
