Converting a Mountain Bike to a Beach Cruiser
I am very happy to have these handlebars... I'm an old guy and haven't ridden a bicycle in 20 years but needed to get some exercise to get my heart rate up for 30 minutes a day; I am done with gyms, don't want a treadmill in my small house or a stationary bike.... but did have a chance to obtain a Trek mountain bike from my family but the Bontrager straight bar had to go... I wanted to sit up right and just pedal my way around my neighborhood. Didn't want to buy a bicycle, but converting this bike to a beach cruiser seemed to me like a good idea to get exercise for 30 minutes a day. I did have to buy some bicycle shims for the handlebars to fit the stem riser because mountain bike handlebars have larger diameters where the handlebar fits the stem riser. Standard sizes are different between mountain bikes and regular bikes. The handlebar has a 25.4 mm diameter. The mountain bike Bontrager stem riser is 31.8 mm; so I found some shims on Amazon to make the fit. I wanted black handlebars, but due to the demand for bike parts, all I could find was chrome...that's okay... I'll just wrap the chrome bars black.

these bars are HUGE
These are exactly what I wanted. I can sit straight up on my cruiser now. I did have to get a new quill to install these as the area on the bar that you clamp to actually widens. They should add that detail to their description so people are aware.

Comfortable cruising
These large cruiser handlebars gave me enough rise and sweep to comfortably sit upright while pedaling. No more back pain from being hunched over for this aging bicyclist. I had to make longer brake cables to reach the end of these handlebars, but I was expecting that.

I don’t usually write reviews, but this product came a lot soon than expected. It said it was coming June 2nd-4th instead came May 26th. Seems pretty sturdy and it’s the perfect fit for my cruiser.
