Amazonia Newcastle Patio Armchair | Certified Teak | Ideal for Outdoors

Reading the Amazon page for this chair, I was impressed by the look of it, but concerned by reviews that said there were problems putting it together, especially if working alone. The UPS guy got a good workout hauling this to my door; it’s only 30 lbs but the box is unwieldy. After unpacking it, and cleaning up all the Styrofoam debris, my assembly time was under 1 hour, working alone. Everything fit properly, I didn’t need a drill, hammer, or other implements of destruction. Just set one side on the floor, and fit the back, seat, and front into the slots. Then fit the other side to the tabs, starting with the back, then, seat, then front. It’s a tad fiddly, but very do-able. The slowest part was the screws, they are long and take a while to screw in. Your fingers and thumb are going to be sore by the time you’re done! With one side screwed in, very carefully flip the chair over. If you’re really, really good, it will stay together and you can just pop in the screws. Most likely the other side will come off, and you’ll have to repeat your dexterity exercise. Pop in the last 3 screws and then the feet, and you’re done. Pop a brew and enjoy the seat.This thing is very solid, it doesn’t twist or torque around at all. It’s also big, so your wide-body friends (or you) will fit comfortably. It doesn’t list a weight limit, but handles my 260 lbs without strain. Highly recommended.

This teak furniture is exactly what I was hoping for! Great quality and craftsmanship. Assembly of the chairs only took me about 10 to 15 minutes each. Make sure to do it with the chair laying on its side. Match up the letters that are on the ends of the furniture. The bench was a little more challenging, it’s really a two person job. Helps if one person holds things steady while the other one fits things into place. But still only took 15 to 20 minutes. Also, it may take a little bit of wiggling to get everything to fit but it will fit! I read where some of the other reviewers gave up or try to drill holes. I strongly advise against that. Call the company if you have any problems, not Amazon. I had a small dent in the back of one of the chairs, and they replaced it no problem! Within four days, they sent me a brand new chair. They didn’t want the other one back so now I have three chairs instead of two. They could not have been any nicer. Everything seems very well-made and sturdy. Great customer service by Amazonia.

The chair arrives in four pieces and needs to be assembled. This is done by inserting pre-placed pegs that come attached to the seat and back pieces into holes in the side pieces then tightening screws in pre-drilled holes. On one side, the seat and back fit just fine and were easy to screw tight. The holes for the pegs on the other side, however, did not line up. I had to drill two holes for the pegs and then drill new holes for the attaching screws. Very unsatisfactory. This product is NOT recommended.

Nice and sturdy. Although one of the chairs that I got had a much darker color in some spots.

Did not come with wood plugs for screw holes (small detail but everything else was good quality). Was hoping to match my current rockets better but arms are narrow. It’s nice and wide for sure. Very solid wood!

Heavy, good looking chair; the assembly took a bit of skill; I work with wood a lot and this was challenging; the wood had warped a bit and some of the bolt holes didn't align; I had to drill some new holes. As I tightened the bolts, I could hear the stress on the wood and was afraid to tighten them totally for fear of splitting the wood. I guess you get what you pay for.

This company took good care of my small complaint..they went over And beyond. Great service. Will return for more beautiful items.

You might find a rubber mallet useful for assembling slightly misaligned peg holes, otherwisethese are easily assembled, sturdy and comfortable chairs.
