Rit DyeMore Liquid Dye, Royal Purple 7-Ounce

I have no experience with dyes, but from what I can tell, this did a great job dyeing my wig for my Rumi cosplay. I just soaked the wig in a big pot of water and dye, following a tutorial from Youtube using this dye, and it came out beautifully vibrant.

I bought a white shag carpet on clearance. I knew white was not going to serve me well but I couldn’t pass up the cheap price as rugs can be very expensive. So I bought 3 bottle of cheap dye and took to you tube. The first YouTube video suggested making spray bottles with dye and water. But it wasn’t a shag carpet. So it’ll probably work for a shorter pile carpet. I believe my carpet was polyester. So thus technique did not work. My second go round I had less dye available but I took 2 large bins filled with boiling water and dye let the rugs soak for 24 hrs. That worked like magic. I should’ve had bigger bins and more dye but I didn’t feel like waiting for more dye to ship. So my color is a little uneven. But I don’t care. The toilet rug i bought at the same time on clearance and it was already a purple gray color. They don’t match my purple but it’s just to show a real shag next to mine… I had fun with my DIY.

A very good value for this bottle of Rit Dye for Synthetics. cheaper from this retailer than anywhere else. It works pretty good to tone down overly yellow and brassy tones in blonde wigs. It was a but scary because you aren't sure how much to use and how long to keep it submerged, however, use common sense and caution a bad you just have to realize you're doing this technique at your own risk. There's are no directions for this on the Rit bottle as this wasn't the intended use for this product initially. But I'm finding out it has many more uses than just dying clothing or refreshing faded polyesters. Top hint: try it ot on a cheap Ebay or Amazon wig first before you experiment on your $300-$500 Jon Renau or Raquel Welch wigs. Just remember...few adventures remain on roads well travelled - take the next exit. Happy Dipping!

We bought stuff for my daughter's bike.. paint, handle grips, pedals, but I couldn't find adequate colored tires. I bought two bottles for the tires but ended up only needed one. It turned out nice.

Long review! So, even though the website says no guaranteed that Rit will work on bleached clothes, I already bleached some clothes and used it… for half a bottle of the Royal Purple, I got a T-shirt done, a pillow case, and a jacket. Going to use the second half and expect to get a T-shirt done, light wash jeans, and a second pillowcase. You can get a wide range of colors… I did the T-shirt first, and it came out really dark purple. Then I used the same water and dyed my white jacket, and it came out lavender. Then I dyed my pillowcase, and it came out a light lavender. If you use the same dye bath for multiple items, just know it’ll progressively get lighter like that.. more like, super dark, and then medium light, light. Do a ten min test patch if you want. Uses a lot of water (they say 3 gallons) and is time consuming.. two hours for three items, with stirring every five mins. Package has instructions, or you can google the Rit website. Makes me much happier, seeing my clothes in a color I like. I’m not a fan of white clothing. Now my closet has more stuff I magically like. Good luck!

I used one bottle to dye a 100% polyester mixed stretch mesh and chiffon dress from a color close to my skin tone to a medium purple. It was probably 2 pounds of fabric. I would have loved it a little more saturated, but I was only willing to fork over $5 for one bottle given this was my first time dyeing with polyester. What I did: I had prewashed the dress on a regular cycle. I used 1 bottle of royal purple dye in six cups of water (which left minimal room for the dress to move around) with a squirt of dish soap. I boiled it outdoors on my Instant Pot for about 2 hours. Rinsed it about 4 times outside until the water ran clear, then washed it in the washing machine with white towels with no dye bleed. Dress is still a little damp in the photo, but it dried to show completely even color. I’m happy!

staining was fine, product can be annoying and difficult to use sometimes, good price but not as easy as other tie dye options

OMG- I am soooo happy, this is the first time using RIT (I usually use dylon) but I wanted to dye my polyester tracksuit and this dye was recommended online, well it’s a game changer it went from green to purple in 20 minutes , I will definitely use it again thank you @rit dye

Le produit est conforme, cependant j’ai eu 28€ de frais de douanes alors que j’ai acheter sur Amazon Belgique et que j’habite en Belgique j’ai trouvé ça vraiment inconcevable. Merci à Amazon de m’avoir aider avec ce problème

Dyrt men super bra textilfärg, rekomenderar starkt då det går att få olika nyanser. Ju mer du har i desto mörkare resultat. Dessutom väldigt enkelt att hantera.
