Well-made, Easy to install (without using the confusing directions)
My wife and I are in our late 70's and we're finding it harder and harder to get up from the commode. Didn't think that would ever be a problem, but it is. Installing grab bars wasn't possible, so we ordered one of the Carex toilet frames. The printed installation instructions were practically impossible to comprehend. But the pieces were nicely labeled and in just a few minutes I was able to assemble the frame just by looking at the parts. You must first remove the toilet seat. Then place the newly-assembled safety frame on the commode and reattach the toilet seat. It took maybe 15 minutes to figure out how everything fit together and then do the actual installation. The parts are nicely made and the finished product looks very nice. Better yet, it solved the problem of rising safely from a seated position. We liked the safety frame so much, we ordered a second one. And, this time, the installation was quick and easy...maybe 5 minutes tops. I hate to think of myself as "elderly," but there you have it. The Carex Toilet Safety Frame has been a perfect solution to one of the drawbacks of getting old.

Peace of mind for aging parents
Sturdy! The quality of these safety rails are good. The back plate is also metal, not plastic like some others were tried. Easy to install. It took about 20 minutes. Easy to follow instructions. Well packaged for shipping. It works great for my aging parents.

Sturdy
This toilet safety frame is very sturdy and provides excellent support and stability. It was easy to assemble and fits securely around the toilet without shifting. The handles are strong and comfortable to grip, making sitting down and standing up much safer and easier. A great option for added confidence and safety in the bathroom. It helps my old man get off the toilet so easily.

Simple, Effective Design, Good Value
This item works quite well. I needed to add a safety support on a toilet for an elderly father who had recently taken a fall in the bathroom. The design is simple and sturdy. And, it's also a great alternative to installing grab bars. It does have some very minor flex and wobble, but that is due to the adjustable spring loaded bullet catches at the rear of the frame where it attaches to the toilet. Not an issue, really, and it does flex outward very slightly as well, but is still very secure. The pieces go together quite easily, and are secured by thumb screws and bolts. It comes with an instruction sheet that has diagrams only. Be sure to assemble the bolts and washers in the right order and direction. I had to do this a couple of times before I got it right. Very simple design once you figure out which piece is A and B. They are labeled on the arms. The mounting system is quite good. it is a piece of solid aluminum, with a tubular channel which holds the two halves of the arm rests in place. You just slide them in and click them in place. It has two detents, one wider and one narrower. The front of the arm rests fit right on top of the rim of the toilet, and under the toilet seat, and have vinyl sleeves to protect the toilet. It fits very well on our oblong American Standard toilet from the 1980's. The existing toilet seat screws anchor the aluminum plate firmly to the rear of the toilet, and it fits very well. It works fine with the easy clean seats that you untwist to remove and clean. I would say this is a very good and simple design, and the price is right. I would recommend it. I like the fact that it attaches directly to the toilet, and that the arms can be tilted up an inch or so to make cleaning the toilet easier, and if necessary you can remove each arm by unlocking the spring catches and sliding them out. Very nice. Mine arrived in good shape. No rust issues, and the vinyl sleeves did not fall off. I am quite satisfied with this support rail. It does the job, and does not require you to modify your bathroom in any way.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.
HORRIBLE PRODUCT. DO NOT BUY. Instructions are worse than Ikea's. Finally got it assembled. There are two bars, one of which goes on either side underneath the toilet seat. When trying to push off on the handles to stand, the bars slip out from under the seat, making the whole thing completely unstable. When pushing the bars back under the toilet seat, they pinch the skin. The instructions also say not to put too much pressure on the handles. I just had knee replacement surgery and the only way to get up from sitting on the toilet is to put pressure on the handles. Overall, a horrid experience. Went out and bought a proper toilet riser from a medical supply store, which is what I should have done in the first place. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. It shouldn't even be sold unless it's completely redesigned. It was promptly returned.

Nice width, sturdiness
Sturdy construction and a bit wider than the safety frames that touch the floor. Everyone in the family loves it. Guests appreciate it.

Exactly as expected
Super easy to install. Once installed it's very secure and definitely makes the toilet safer for whoever needs it! I like that it doesn't have legs so nothing gets in the way. It just easily installs right under the toilet seat to the actual toilet. Im glad we got this product. Exactly as expected and what we needed.
