The best ink pen ever!! It words smooth with a fine tip. I love the light weight, how it feels in my hand and the brightness of the color. I wrote with it nearly every day and am so pleased.

Feels good in my hand! Writes smoothly. Ink flow was immediate after I took the little ring off. And a fun color of the pen, a nice coral.

It's a wonderful little pen, same design as the Lamy AL-Star, but slightly lighter since the body is plastic instead of aluminum. I got it as a "daily driver" for the workplace since it's distinctive color makes it easy to recognize and it's not expensive. My only complaint about the pen, in reference to it's "big brother," is that back half of the pen doesn't screw in as tight, meaning every now and again you'll have to give the pen a quarter-twist to set the body and the grip back into alignment. For the price, though, you can't find a better entry-level fountain pen. That said, you do need to clean the nib before use, otherwise you'll think this is a poor-flowing, scratchy excuse for a pen. Simply plugging in a Lamy cartridge, or filling up a Z24 converter and hoping for the best won't cut it. Clean the nib in fresh water, let it dry, and then add ink and you'll have a much more pleasant experience with this pen than if you simply grab it and go. The difference a little cleaning prior to use makes is astonishing. Noodler's Ink flows very well through the nib. Winsor & Newton flows OK, but has a tendency to thicken and clog the nib if left unused for a day or two. Overall, this pen performs better with thinner inks versus thicker inks.

If you have used better pens. This pen would turn out to be a disappointment. Do not waste your money. As mentioned by many, this is a good starter pen. Personally, I did not feel the pen was smooth or the writting was not comfortable. 2nd day update: It is a beautiful pen. It may seem rough but it grows on you. Updating to 5 Star Review. I am knee deep in the stationary and planner communities online, but I haven't been interested in the fountain pen side of these communities. Oh, they're pretty, I love their aesthetic, and online influencers write so beautifully with them! Of course it's crossed my mind to give them a go! But I was content with gel pens and ball point pens and didn't see a need. That is until I developed stiff hands in the evening. Writing became difficult, sometimes even painful, when the temperature drops in my house and my fingers refuse to bend like they used to. I tried hand warmers, and desktop heaters, and I've even introduced typing gloves into my workflow. But some folks recommended I try a fountain pen because the way one holds the pen is quite comfortable and they require no pressure at all to write with. So here we are, with the Lami safari in light rose. I have the F nib, which I find isn't fine enough for me, but that means I get to buy a second one, right? Haha. Setup was easy; I actually owned this for a month before putting it together because I was nervous for some reason, but it only took a few seconds to install the cartridge and everything flowed smoothly after that. The pen is incredibly comfortable to hold. Since you hold fountain pens differently from normal pens, I have had to relearn how to write, but it's been worth it -- the new writing position is incredibly gentle on my fingers, and a lot of my movement has transferred into my wrist, so I'm not relying on my fingers as much to make those minute gestures needed for handwriting. The nib doesn't skip or scratch, and it's quite easy to control the flow of the ink from pen to paper. Having never used a fountain pen before this one, I can honestly say there was very little learning curve, and this is by far the most comfortable writing tool I've used in all my life!

I like this pen. It is easy to write with and easy to own. The price is also nice.

This is my fourth LAMY fountain pen. I have several more expensive ones, but I think these are great. I bought this one as a gift fort someone who is just starting out with fountain pens. I also have the converter.

Fantastic for a first (decent) fountain pen 👍 It writes nice a smoothly. The fine nib might be a little broader than other fine nibs out there, but it can still write on college ruled paper no problem.

It writes very smoothly. This is my second Lamy pen and it is value for money. It comes with a converter which is a great value addition.

I bought the Lamy Safary along with 10 cartridges but when I opened the package, there was only a pen but no cartridge. Don't know if it was a mistake or deliberate.
