Chemical Guys, Diablo Gel Foaming Wheel & Rim Cleaner, All Finishes, 16 oz

I opened this and the smell... Well, let's just say that I began by judging a book by its cover. No strong chemical smell, actually almost... Pleasant? No way is this going to take the Brembo brake dust off of my Charger Widebody wheels. Mixed up a small amount with probably way too much water, not expecting anything. Previously I was using the fallout remover which smelled very strong but was also very harsh on the wheels obviously. Not expecting much, I sprayed it on my front and rear wheels (they were off the car) in the shade and let it sit while I started to wash the fender liners. When I went back to scrub the wheels I didn't understand what I was looking at. I took my stiff bristle brush I usually need and it looked like it was making a smear. I took my soft speed brush and ran it across the front wheel and I couldn't understand. Where was all of the dust? Even the huge chunks that usually accumulate were melting away with minimal rubbing. I still don't understand. This stuff is BETTER than the fallout remover. How? How did it work so well? Leave it to the Chemical Guys, I suppose. Their citrus and now melon washes I've used for decades have been amazing. So is this stuff. I can't believe how well it worked, and how long I expect this bottle to last at this rate. Can I give it ten stars?

This is a safe but effective wheel cleaner. Diablo safely cleans your wheels. It does not contain strong acids that could damage delicate parts and surfaces. There are stronger wheel cleaners out there but those can do damage to the delicate parts, like emblems, if you forget to wash off any over-spray. The Diablo wheel cleaner is safe enough to use on your wheels. It will not damage exterior trims. This spray will not cause the adhesives on your trim to weaken. Most plastic trim on the exterior of your car are attached with adhesives. This is the reason why you should not use strong chemicals. The clear coat on the paint will keep the finish protected from harsh chemicals but the adhesives and the rubber seals on the exterior of the car are delicate items. The rubber door seals are more delicate than tire rubber. Diablo should be diluted. Use one of the Chemical Guys dilution bottle for this purpose. The pump in the spray head is resistant to chemicals. That is what you want to use with these cleaners. A good quality spray bottle helps make your cleaning experience more pleasant. You will pull that spray trigger many times. It helps to have a properly designed product. The Diablo is somewhat thick. A spray head that has a long trigger will help you. Dilute the cleaner with soft water. RO or deionized water works best. Spray liberally on your wheels. Give the product time to work and then scrub the wheels. I know, somebody probably sold you a product in the past that claimed you do not have to scrub and you were disappointed. It is hard for any cleaner to remove dirt and grime without you physically scrubbing the wheels. Diablo is a good cleaner but you will need to scrub that grime off. That's just the way it is. Diablo makes the job a little easier because any dirt that you scrub away will not stick back to the wheels as long as you do not let the product dry. It basically floats the particles away from the wheel surface for a short time. Long enough for you to hose it off. Do you really need a product that was designed to clean wheels? Can you use the same car shampoo that you used to clean the painted surfaces of the car? I think so. In my opinion, you can get away with that. Use the same car shampoo for your wheels. It's your physical effort that pulls the dirt off of the wheels. Diablo is probably stronger than your PH neutral car shampoo but you can compensate with a little more physical effort. This is another good product from the detailing geeks. It can be economical. It is very safe, for your wheels and for you. It will help you clean your wheels without causing potential problems with your trim. I highly recommend this product if you feel the need to use a wheel cleaner instead of using your car shampoo.

Great product and is gentle enough to not stain rims. This will get rid of normal everyday dirt, grime and break dust with ease. However if you use this to deep clean caked on brake dust and rust from years of neglect on rims be aware it will take lots of time and lots of elbow grease. If you want a quick and effective clean maybe opt for an acidic cleaner but be warned that can stain metal and your rims in a bad way.

I’ve used several wheel cleaners over the years, but Chemical Guys Diablo Gel is by far one of the best I’ve tried. The gel formula clings perfectly to the wheels, even on vertical surfaces, which gives it time to break down brake dust and grime. What I love most is that it's pH-neutral and safe for all types of wheels—chrome, painted, powder-coated—you name it. No harsh smells either; it actually has a nice, fruity scent! I usually dilute it 3:1 with water and still get amazing results. For tougher dirt, I use it more concentrated and give it a light brush. It lifts the dirt without damaging the finish, and rinses off easily. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a safe and powerful cleaner without worrying about harsh chemicals. I’ll definitely keep buying this.

For heavy heavy brake dust and dirt maybe use a bit less diluted than recommended and products breaks through everything in your wheels.

I'm a fan of many Chemical Guys products, as they really outdo the competition for the price. Knowing this, I had some gnarly buildup on a set of anodized rims, and was hoping this would work wonders. Unfortunately, it didn't. To my dismay, it didn't even outperform generic wheel cleaner, or generic car soap. This is to say, it cleansed, but it didn't outperform anything and as such, was priced far too high in my opinion. I tried it in low, high and full concentration, but it didn't seem to matter. It may perform better for other types of wheels, I have only tried it on anodized. Once this runs out, I will not be purchasing it again. I'd rather keep using their other products. I would recommend someone try this if they have non-anodized wheels, as it may work for them.

This stuff is awesome as a replacement/refill bottle. It can be diluted with water to last longer and still work well as intended for cleaning your rims! smells nice too and sudds well with a brush
