I needed a small device I could discreetly record with for 90 minutes or more. I purchased a different one first from another company for $60, and it was garbage.. then I found this one... I was hesitant but I needed one, and so I ordered it. Shipped pretty fast and this little thing did not disappoint!It is so small... it's like 2 inches (tall) × 1cm x 1cm. Easily fits in my jeans pocket....so small in fact that I have misplaced mine and ordered a 2nd one lol keep track of yours so you don't have to do the same haha its a great little device though! It picks up sound from pretty far away.. ive used mine from about 40 ft away from the speaker and it picked up everything.. not a single glitch!Read the directions on how to use it one sentence at a time...they are pretty detailed in a tiny font, but they make sense... you might need glasses to read them though lol maybe I'm getting old hahaI was concerned it wouldn't pick up the distant sound I needed it to, but it did...and very clearly too.After recording, I plugged it into my computer and nothing happened. In the directions they give a website to download an audio player..I did exacyly that and wallah! Perfect audio recordings... and the battery lasts a while too! The only thing I would want different is perhaps a lock mode.I would definitely recommend this to anyone in need of a recording device

EDIT: After using this device for a couple years, I've gotten more and more frustrated with it. I've noticed that it has started skipping, so that every 10 seconds or so, there is a skip and about 1 second of audio is lost. There have also been a couple times when all memory has been erased, so my recordings are lost. Stay away from this device.ORIGINAL REVIEW:This was just what I was looking for.Pros:Easy to use - hit "Record" button to start and stop recording.Easy to transfer to computer - just plug into USB port.Lots of storage space.Records clearly.Great price.Cons:Screen is small and thus a little hard to read.Short delay (around 3 seconds) from when you hit "Record" to when recording actually starts.Overall, I would strongly recommend this product. I use it to record speeches that I give, and I just place it on the podium before I begin and it works perfectly. After I'm done, I plug the recorder into the computer, transfer it (while the recorder's battery recharges), and then I'm ready for the next use. The cons are not very minor and easy to deal with, and you can't beat the ease of use and the price.

I dearly wanted to love this product. It's design and size are of the type that usually is perfect for me. In the end though, I have to give it a 3, which is a middle ground between an excellent form factor with reasonable acoustics on the one hand and, for me, far too much of an "ease of use" challenge.Form factor. Really small size and is therefore easy to carry. It has a bright red "Record" button on the front. The recordings I was able to make seemed clear and crisp and could be understood perfectly on playback especially given the small size of the device.Ease of use. I ordered this to capture ideas anytime, but primarily during workouts when it just isn't possible to write things down. I'm for simplicity as in Push to start, Push to stop. Push here to playback. I figure I should be able figure out the basics of most single use devices within 5 minutes and be good to go. After charging this unit, I decided to spend a few minutes learning the basics before heading out for a workout. But after spending about 15 minutes, I put it aside because I needed to get going with the workout. Later, I set aside some time with the device and instructions in hand to figure out how to make it work to suit my purposes. After spending maybe an hour and a half total, I decided that though this device may be simple for some to use, it wasn't simple for me. Accessing features seems to require a sequence of steps rather than a simple on/off push sequence. I'm sure it must be there, but I couldn't break the code. It apparently works well for lots of folks, but it just didn't for me. So back it goes.A couple of additional thoughts:1. The Recording indicator light is very small and not at all bright. I could only see that it was on in very subdued light.2.Of necessity, the screen is tiny and so the displayed information is tinier still. It seems easy enough to see, but not while moving during a workout.I like to think that I am reasonably tech savvy. I have built my own desktops for the past 20 years or so and have recommissioned innumerable laptops. I also use and love a smartphone with multiple online syncing services. So I am not a newbie on such things...

This product has several flaws:1. Printing in the display is TOO SMALL!!!!!!You really need the eyes of an owl to see the very small printing.2. The instructions aren't 'clean'.There are buttons to press 'fast' or 'slow and hold' -- this is out!Machine switches between undesired functions too many times.3. Can't easily switch from 'play' to 'stop' and another file and then directly to 'Record' -- machine has to pause and go through a cycle -- FORGET IT! Give me another button to press.4. I want to plug it into the wall -- not my computer, to charge. NO WALL CHARGER!The POSITIVE side is the long recording time - and that is it!I got this unit ONLY because my Olympus died -- Olympus was a great 'message minder' -- I simply wore it out.I am SO sorry I got this unit.I do not want it to play MP3 recordings -- I deleted these the first thing.I want it to take dictation and lots of it -- and I want to put that on the computer (It does that OK).AND, if the printing is going to be this small -- give me a magnifying glass with it to read the face of it!
