Salicru - SPS 650 HOME UK - Uninterruptible Power Supply 650VA / 360W, 693CA000003

Given 3 stars for tech and battery life as not had cause to put these to the test. I already have one of these myself and this one I bought for my mother who has a careline, so this, the phone and the Internet have backup power. The only downsize is due to the shape of the plugs the other 3 sockets which just have surge protection aren't accessible as they are blocked by the other plugs.

Works as expected. Great when you're having building work and need your router / broadband to stay connected whilst working from home. Only annoying thing is that it beeps every 10 seconds or so when it's in battery mode. Would be nice to be able to shut it up. Uninterruptible beep supply.

Great basic UPS but if you want to use it with your NAS (in my case QNAP NAS) it does not offer data output from USB, which means the NAS will not know its running on battery and will not shut it down lautomatically.

After a experiencing a series of power interruptions that interfered with tv recordings I decided on installing a UPS to prevent further issues. I have connected my Virgin cable box & V6 TV decoder, a Humax Freeview receiver, aerial amplifier and Denon AV receiver. Haven't had a problem since - it doesn't get very warm, doesn't hum - it just sits there and does it's thing.

This arrived on time yesterday, plugged in and allowed to fully charge. I am in a caravan which is prone to sudden power outages so This is used to give me time to save my work and close down. I am running the new Mac mini and a 28 inch AOC 4k monitor and carried out a test failure, I got just over 60 minutes before the beeps picked up speed and I powered back on, more than happy with that. Mac mini draws a max of ~40 watts & AOC2879 ~65 watts, once docs/files are saved, turning off monitor would extend these times or connect my Belkin dock. for less time. Update: After unsuccessfully trying to connect to UPS with the downloaded software (even after switching off firewall) I found that MacOS had already discovered it after connecting USB lead and shows battery status on the menu bar :-)

Overheated and burned out within 30mins of first use....

Thought I would give this a go over some of the higher rated items after seeing it on an Ebuyer giveaway. Cost wise it came in under the APC alternative but couldn't see any real difference in the spec (just the colour!) Out the box, PC, QNAP now protected and used the rest of the sockets for lamp, SONOS and monitor. Perfect little unit for what I needed.
