Thames & Kosmos Adventure Games: Monochrome Inc., Cooperative Card Games for Adults and Teens, Board Games for Game Night, For 1 to 4 Players, Age 16+

This game was brilliant. Honestly can't recommend it enough. I'd previously done a few of the Thames and Kosmos escape rooms but this was on a different level entirely. It is split into three chapters, which we played over three nights. The game description says 90 minutes per chapter but in my experience it was more like 2-3 hours per chapter - perhaps we were just slow! We used the app, which added to the game a lot and meant that we didn't have to keep reading cards aloud. I've used game apps in the past where the voice has been annoying but this was very listenable. I'd say age 16+ for this game is about right, both in terms of theme and the level of concentration required. This is a game you can only really play once. You don't alter the playing materials so could pass it to someone else afterwards, but you're putting clues together and I don't think a replay once you know all the answers would be any fun. This was the most engaging game I've played for a very long time. I'll be ordering The Dungeon, by the same maker.

Loved this, a mix off the escape room games and make your own story. Better value for money than the escape room as you don't destroy. It's made of quality materials easy to learn and challenging while playing but not to difficult.

Great game but very hard to get around take alot on patience

Kept us entertained for many hours. We took three evenings with dinner to play the adventure game and it was great fun collaborating together to defeat it! This game is highly fun. Get your friends round and have some really good nights entertainment!! We played it with three people and all worked together! It was brilliant. Works best with 3 or 4 people.

Not as much fun as the exit games for us but well thought out and good quality. I think for the price it's worth trying to see if you enjoy it. There is replay ability in the fact that you don't destroy any of the materials however I can't imagine you wanting to play it after you've figured the story out. We found this Adventure game limited, there was always an obvious route or answer with no leaps of intuition or puzzle to work out. Yes you need to think and use the correct tools for the job, send the best person etc. But these decisions are pretty obvious to figure out, if you make a mistake you'll immediately work out how to fix it for the rest of the game. We got to the end of level 2 before we gave up as it was all the same stuff and getting repetitive. If you had the same experience as us try the Exit games by the same company which are much more fun.

Completed this last night. Loved it, we have also done the other one in this series but enjoyed this one more. Played alongside the Kosmos Helper App saved a lot of reading. We found it to be not too challenging so was light entertainment with a sense of happiness when combining items to solve a puzzle. Overall we wish there were more in this series. Apart from this we have completed many Kosmos Exit escape games but we prefer these.

Great little game, exactly like a physical version of a classic point-and-click pc adventure. Rules should be familiar to anyone who has played on PC and cooperative element adds a lot of fun. Ingenious use of cards to mimic location exploration.

This may be great if you have played these games previously but we trained to play it with a 12 and 14 year old. We are adults and couldn’t figure out how to play it. The kids quickly got bored whilst we were trying to figure it out. The accompanying app is useless as you just read out what is in the adventure book anyway. Waste of time and money.

This game was so fun to play. Took about 4 days to complete. Make sure to use the app to get the full immersive experience of the game. Me and my 11 and 13 year old played the game. At times it was quite intense and we're held in suspense for every move we move.

Make sure to download the helper app. It makes game play much more fun. This can be played with 1 person but you just switch between the game pieces you use and it's not as fun as with 2+. There are 3 different sections in 1 continuous story line. When you're done with game, put it back in order and give it to a friend!
