does Size include the box as well as the plant need to have an overall size before I buy.

The measurements of my 3 begondis :- the box is 7cm square and 6.5cm high and the overall measurement of the box with tallest plant is 20cm. The other 2 boxes contain plants of varying heights up to 19cm. I hope information this will help you.

Can these be kept outdoors?

I have used them outdoors for a garden party but brought them in afterwards, I don't believe they are waterproof. We've been really pleased with them, they look very effective when they're lit up.

You get the plants in the boxes and they light up. They are lovely.

No they are not waterproof to my knowledge and run via batteries
