Precision
I wasn't sure if I really needed this probe tool, but I haven't regretted it for a second. It's half the price of the carbide model, but works identically to it. I like using carbide motion for my controller and this works flawlessly when zeroing the x, y, and z axis on my Shapeoko 3XXL. You can zero all three together, or only one axis if needed. The only tight squeeze I had was plugging the ground and the power wires to the control board. The plastic heads were very hard to slide on, but not because of this product, but because the plastic heads from the shapeoko wire harnesses seemed slightly too wide and were already crowding the space that these two wires had to connect to. I was just gentle and got everything hooked up with no trouble. It is a Time saver, but more importantly it gives me the precision I've been looking for on my projects

This company cares about the customer. The new version works flawlessly.
Maybe it's my ShapeokoXXL motherboard, but I connected it onto the probe connector like the post shows and it's intermittent. I ruined a project the first time I used it, so I tested it. I can get it to probe the Z but it doesn't work on the X and the Y. Is the aluminum block coated with something?? so disappointed that this didn't work for me. I guess i'm going to shell out 120 for the Carbide one. Bummer Seller- I made sure my shapeoko XXL grbl software was the latest and greatest and I also made sure my Carbide Motion was up to date. Just an FYI, the Carbide Touch probe ($120) actually uses a different header (3-pin - as it has an LED and needs 5v). I used the header that is shown in your picture and is labeled 'probe'. Maybe this older probe header is disabled on the newest Shapeoko XXL. Since i don't know the pinout of the new header, I didn't want to chance plugging your touch probe in it. This is the only thing I can think of because all this thing does is toggle a bit. Also note, the 120 dollar Carbide touch probe only works with the latest carbide motion (416) and latest GRBL firmware (1.1), so makes me think, the old header has been disabled in software. UPDATE... What a great company this is. They sent me the newest version and it works GREAT.

Good product, could use a couple improvements
The probe is as advertised and connected to the Shapeoko without issue. The tool clip's wire is a bit short and a bit stiff, so when you connect the clip, it tends to move the probe plate.

Great value and increased efficiency
This is very handy and for the most part is accurate though from time to time it is off on the Z axis on V bits. I test it on my v bits to be sure and I also am certain to test my v bit where it will be cutting for the Z axis and not the zero corner. The zero corner could be off as wood thickness varies greatly if it hav not been run through a thickness planner and even so your table and or gantry could be off several mm from zero to when your bit is cutting. Best thing to do is to check and be sure.

QUALITY CONTROL ISSUES, but works OK
The device is super simple and works as it should. HOWEVER: When probing, my machine often crashed into the aluminum plate seemingly at random. About 1 out of 4 times. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. I thought there was a problem with my CNC machine, or with the control software. I tested the electrical connections & contacts and everything tested ok. After dozens of crashes and emergency stops, I finally discovered that the connection between the wire and the clip was not soldered. The wire was just passed through the hole and crimped in place. This flaw was hidden by the plastic cover on the clip. That is why the probe worked most of the time but not always. I soldered the connection and now it works as it should, all the time. I feel kinda stupid for not catching it earlier, but I did use a test probe several times and it passed. Must have been holding it just right each time. Ugh. Anyway, it works. ...yay. Check those solder joints.

Amazing alternative to Carbides version, was able to use for BitSetter replacement too.
I don't normally write reviews on Amazon (in fact, I think this is my first time...), but I was honestly insanely impressed with this touch probe. I have a 2020 Shapeoko 3 with the Z-Plus addition, and reached out immediately after purchase to get the adapter. i forgot i had a 3 pin connector laying around, so I actually pulled the pins out of the two pin connector this came with, and put them in the 3 pin to just get started. The XY&Z probing worked just fine without any issues, but where I am very happy with my purchase was my ability to use this with a DIY Bitsetter. I ended up purchasing a momentary switch on Amazon, and adjusted a file found on Thingiverse to 3D print a housing. After wiring everything up and testing it out, it worked flawlessly and I was able to save about $175 in total!

New Shapeoko XXL and Bitsetter not working
The unit says in the description that works with Shapeoko. My XXL has a three-pin header rather than a two-pin due to have the bitsetter device that requires a splitter. Disappointed that the device does not appear to work with my machine. *Update- I changed this from one star to five stars. Pat reached out to me and helped correct my issues. The probe was not at fault but rather me not using the probe correctly was causing the issue. Special Note: make sure your bit is within a 1/2 inch of the probe. The splitter is not required for the installation as there is a second probe port on the main board of the Shapeoko XXL. Thank you Pat!

Le produit est bien fait mais le service à la clientèle n'est pas bon. J'ai écrit deux fois pour avoir de l'info et je n'ai reçu aucun retour d'eux. Ils auraient pu au moins me dire qu'ils ne pouvaient pas m'aider.
