if you’re looking for a brand like Ekornes and willing to break you bank, look somewhere else. If you’re like me wants quality and comfort without spending a fortune, look no further. The chair is awesome. The only cons I find (not important for me at all) it’s on the smaller side, even the Large one. I’m 5’5” and fine with the size. I got large and happy I did! The dove color with espresso wood looks so slick and modern. The reclining is super easy. There’s a knob to control reclining. If you recline and tighten it the chair will stay in the position of your choice. I have it untightened so I can easily recline or sit upright. Leather quality is very good. I have all furniture in Italian leather and can attest the quality. Overall, great chair! Very comfortable. Well worth the money. Get Large size though.

Pro's: very high quality leather; firm cushioning is higher end; reasonably comfortable; a very fair value. Con's, and such: It a small chair, so larger-framed people might not find it quite so comfortable. This is not a chair you sink into; it is a chair you sit on top of and are supported by. Reclining function is reasonably smooth, but clearly inferior to higher end chairs. The arm rests are very low and so I need pillows to prop up my elbows when reading a book/magazine/iPad. The headrest, though well designed, does not prop my head forward sufficiently to read while semi-reclined. So once again I resort to a pillow to provide sufficient support. Needing three pillows to prop up body parts seems wrong for a $1000-ish chair. But these are admittedly personal preferences. I was hesitant to order something as personal as a chair over the Internet and my experiences confirmed those fears. As it happens this is a very nice chair so all's well that ends well. It's just not my personal comfy chair ideal. I would hate have to return an item this large, so consider your needs carefully. One major warning. The measurements on Amazon's website are incorrect. I ordered the large size chair, but when I measured it the width is 31", not the 34" Amazon indicated. I thought at first they had simply shipped the wrong size, but I called The Back store and they insist mine is the large. As it happens it fits me fine, but again if you are a larger- framed person consider the measurements carefully as this is not a large chair to begin with and the measurements given are not correct. Bottom line? Very nice chair for the money. Looks great and will most likely prove quite durable. But if you are picky about your creature comforts (especially if you are a larger person) do yourself a favor and find one to sit in before you buy.

I was nervous, ordering this without touching or sitting on it. I was fairly confident because I have been using a similar chair, same brand, different style (slightly) for the last ten years and loved it. I just wanted a different color. This one is smaller, yet just the right size, sits firmer, yet comfy enough that I routinely fall asleep in front of the TV. If I were a big, brawny 300 lb. man it might be too small. As a medium size woman, it's perfect. It's a great value! I paid $1,000 for my old one, ten years ago, and sold it on Craigslist for $250. It was still in perfect condition.

We were thrilled to be able to order the chair online and get color combination we wanted so quickly. The chair is very comfortable, seems to be excellent quality and looks great. As others have mentioned the large is really more medium sized. The delivery service was amazingly fast and helpful. The seller also communicated on a couple issues about order initially very quickly. Happy customer!

Arriived assembled, great. Carefully unboxed. Detected no external damage, great. Read all enclosed paperwork. Appeaered to be in excellent condition. Very attractive. No external flaws. Sat in chair. Chair went pop. Plastic piece flew from front of chair. Chair seat felt like it dropped a little. No I am not overweight, the chair had 2 to 3 inches space either side of my hips. After examining the underside of the chair a part had separated from the bottom of the front of the seat. It became apparent that piece of plastic, yes plactic, took more pressure than it could withstand. Removed parts associated. Now I could use the chair but without recline adjustment which I never got to use. Chair still rotated just fine. Chair looks great. But recliner that it replaced and cost $349 lasted 15 years and never mechanically broke down. It just was showing its old age.

Materials, leather and wood, are very good; they should be for the price charged. I own several Norwegian and Danish furniture pieces. They are well designed, functional, elegant and made of good materials. If they have moving parts, they work. This Fjords reclining chair does not meet my expectations. The automatic reclining mechanism is minimum. The cheap and poorly placed lever up front and below the seat is too far down making it difficult to reach and manipulate, especially if one has short arms. (I bought the small chair.). If I push with my feet, I have to push against a wall or another heavy piece of furniture, but by the time I get the incline where I want, my arm cannot reach the lever so I have to let go. You get the picture. It is as if the Chinese had a hand on this. The Ottoman is clumsy; if used as suggested on the picture --an extension for legs and feet is very uncomfortable. I have had to use the Ottoman turned around to support my feet in an up position. When getting up, I have to either slide the Ottoman away from the chair or straddle it and remove it with my hands. When I saw the chair I thought I had found the ultimate resting place after a hard day; now I have to just accept that this is what it is and cannot do anything about it. I am elderly and live in a rural area; I cannot pack it up and return it. I would not recommend this chair to anybody, as my name is Peterson.

I LOVE this chair. I had been looking at the stressless recliner BUT the price was just too outrageous. I searched the internet and found this chair. I have never purchased furniture over the internet so I was very concerned. So I called the store and spoke to Terrie. She answered all my questions. They also sell the stressless so she volunteered to take photos of this chair and the stressless model I was looking at so that I could see them side by side and then emailed them to me. It sealed the deal I loved the way this chair looked! And it is just as, if not more, comfortable than the stressless I was looking at! The leather is beautiful and the color is a very nice black (not a greyish black). The base is sturdy and attractive. The recline is excellent and it even has the additional head recline. I love that it swivels too! The lines of the chair are very nice. I was concerned it would look too much like an office chair for a living room and it does NOT. Also, I had a very small (narrow) area where I wanted to put this chair it fits perfectly without looking too tight. For the space I had I could not put the large version of this chair. However if you are not pressed by space I highly recommend that you get the larger version of this chair. This chair is smaller profile and fits me perfectly but seems a bit small for my husband.

I contemplated stressless first, but upon research this one was recommended for a lower price. Quality is as good or better then the stressless. The leather is soft, chair has good lumbar support. I bought it for our library room to use as a reading chair. This chair feels like an active relax chair just right for that purpose. There were major delivery issues and I almost started return/ cancellation because of that. However once I contacted Bruce at the BackStore directly he was able to figure out a way to get it here. Be aware delivery in some areas, even if they are not remote, can be slow. Making use of communication with this seller is helpful, at least in my situation. The color dove is a nice light warm grey, just like in the picture. I am contemplating buying two more for our living room.
