A great starter kit
The Speedball SpeedyCarve stamp making kit is a great kit to start getting into stamping with! The carving bit is a wooden handle with two interchangeable blades, one of which is for carving small details and the other is for clearing off large areas. The blades are well made and do not dull easily and don’t get stuck in the handle piece. The rubber block is very soft and easy to carve, even with a well used blade. I found that you can even make two sided stamps if they are small enough.Pros:~If you aren’t confident in your skills and knowledge, the manual is very informative~A small sheet of transfer paper is included which makes transferring designs to the rubber block easy~Simple and effective for starting out~Arrived within a few days of purchasingThere are no cons that I can think of for this product. It meets all the expectations and works well.

These are so easy to use~!
I wanted to make a little stamp with my business's logo for cheap. (It was an idea I was testing out and while I thought about getting a professional stamp made, I didn't want to spend the money if I ended up not liking the stamp idea.)Anyway, I printed out my logo and traced it on the little paper included in this product using a pencil I had around the house. Then I transferred it to the pink stamp material by rubbing the pencil markings gently. When it was fully transferred, I set the tracing paper aside and put the sharp blade into the wooden handle and set to work carving the pink material away from my design.I was able to get closer where needed by using the V shaped blade and switched the two out rather easily. I had enough material left over that I made two stamps with the same logo and still had extra pink material for a smaller project if I ever think of one. This little stamp is pretty great and now I have two logo stamps that are just what I was looking for at a very affordable price. I cut away the extra pink around the edges and didn't bother affixing the stamp to a wooden piece of anything, I just take it directly by hand, dip it in the ink tray and then to the envelopes and it works perfectly!I love it. This worked out better than I hoped!

Good Value, carving tool not great quality
I bought this mainly because I needed the rubber carving block and this kit was the same price as the block on its own. The carving tool is not the nice kind with the blade storage in the handle and a metal screw mechanism to tighten the blade onto the handle. It's just a piece of wood with a notch cut into the tip where the blade will fit. It only comes with two blades, and both are pretty big, so not good for thin lines and detailed work. I've already lost one of the blades because there is nowhere to store them! That said, it's a decent value to get the carving tool for basically free with the rubber carving block. The block itself is easy to carve and to cut into smaller pieces. Great for making letterboxing stamps.

Great Starter Kit!
Bought this for my first attempt at stamp making and I'm very satisfied. Kit comes with a 4x6 rubber block, a cutter handle & 2 blades, a small sheet of tracing paper and instructions. It does not come with ink pad or a mounting surface for your finished stamp. But for me, it was enough for a beginner to start. My project was a bookplate with my name and a crow on a 3x4 rectangle, so the block in this kit was enough for a spare in case I messed up. I quickly wished I had more blades, but with a bit of practice on the larger parts of the design I was able to carve out the sharp corners to my satisfaction with the 2 blades provided, and sometimes the help of a box cutter blade. The rubber block was dense and easy to cut. The kit doesn't come with ink pad, so to test my design I colored the raised area with a non-permanent marker and stamped it on a piece of paper while the ink was still wet. My bookplate came out great and I will definitely buy more blades to do more projects. But I recommend this as a starter kit.

Great for a small project
I really didn’t need much rubber at all- I wanted four different 2cmx2cm stamps, and I only used maybe a fifth of the rubber. As a total beginner, I found the kit easy to use. I wish there was a tool setting that allowed for a thinner cut, but it was very easy to make do. (I used an exacto knife for really tiny details.) If you’re wanting stamps for a small project, but don’t want to break the bank on something that you’ve never tried before, this is a great place to start

Small set
This is not worth it, imho. The handle is small and made of wood. It isn't too comfortable in the hand, and it is just kind of cheaply made all around. The carving block is small but it IS easier to carve than linoleum. Perhaps a good trial if you want to give linocutting a try without spending a lot. If you get addicted you will soon cast this aside for better tools and larger media to carve.
