Action Double Feature: Cobra / Tango & Cash

You're a disease, and i'm the cure! (Cobra)
Don't listen to all the Stallon haters. People who have nothing better to do then hate on everyone else aren't even worth listening to. Those people are completely biased, jealous, or just plain miserable all the time. Why Stallone might not be the best actor ever, or even one of the 10 best, these are 2 of his very best movies. Lots of good Sly Stallone stuff, in this double feature.Cobra- lots of action, an amazing body count (Like a Rambo type body count), Lots of action, and awesome one-liners, too. This is a shoot em up, blow em up, kill em up, Stallone fest. He plays a special forces type cop. He's part of the elite "zombie squad." Him, and his partner, have to protect Bridgette Nielson, who witnessed the "Night Slasher," who was involved in one of the "New World Order's" murders. Sly, with his partner and another cop, takes Bridgette out of the city, since keeping her in the city isn't doing any good, in an attempt to protect Bridgette. Sly doesn't realize at the time, that the "other" cop along with them is an insider, and part of the "New World Order."The acting is pretty good, and high quality production. Lots of guns, shooting, killing, explosions, the works. It's like Rambo, but he's a cop, lol. Great man fun, highly recommend.Tango and Cash is another good Stallone flick, but Kurt Russell is clearly the better actor, IMO. Both of them together seem to be a believable pair, and have great chemistry. Sly, and Kurt, are both excellent cops, on opposite sides of the city battling drug lord evil. The King Pin (Jack Palance) has had enough of them ruining his operations, so he sets them both up, in a staged murder plot, where Sly and Kurt get blamed, and framed for the murder. They both have to escape from prison, as they were sent to a tougher prison (another inside job), and have to clear their names. Again, lots of guns, shootings, explosions, and another amazing body count by both Sly, and Kurt. Again, more man candy.Fans of Kurt Russell, or/and Stallone will enjoy this movie, as well.

This is not widescreen.
I am so sick of Amazon telling me something is widescreen and then I find out it is not AFTER buying it. This is letterboxed. In other words, widescreen for TVs that are not widescreen. So if you have a TV that was made in the last 20 years, you get black bars around all 4 sides and a tiny little picture in the middle. In 2020. Utterly useless. Why is this even being sold on Amazon, let alone why are they lying about the format? Well I guess they lie about the format so people will still buy it in 2020, because no one would knowing it is letterboxed. Enjoy the return

"Cobra" Had a Love Theme?
It may be a backhanded compliment to say you're not going to burn many brain cells with this pairing of Sylvester Stallone action flicks. This is the kind of fare that guys salivated over in the Eighties with its preponderance of bullets, blood, guns, and gorgeous girls. Don't examine the plots too closely because they contain enough holes to drive a tractor trailer through. The villains are pretty over-the-top particularly a slithering Jack Palance in "Tango and Cash". If you were to give the edge as to which film is better it would have to be "Tango and Cash" solely on the basis of Kurt Russell's presence. He seems to be having a lot of fun and his self deprecation brings out the best in Stallone. In "Cobra" Stallone is paired with the mannequin like Brigitte Nielsen and he looks pretty bored. His acting range in this one can be judged by how hard he clenches on his toothpick. Neither are classics, perhaps of their genre, but a terrific time capsule memento regardless.

Great combo!
I was originally just looking for Tango & Cash, but saw this double set that also has Cobra and said hey- why not! These are two movies I grew up watching on TV so they were must haves for my collection. These are probably two of my favorite cheesy 80's action flicks. I don't care if these are Stallone's (and Russell's) worst movies ever, I love em!Tango & Cash is just entertaining with all the wisecracking and gun blazing that goes on, and Stallone's Merc "lead sled" in Cobra is just awesome (too bad it gets wrecked and fubared like every other movie). My one gripe is this-the double-sided DVD is not marked as to which side is which movie! So, that takes a little trial and error.

Stallone best Movie Cobra...
I've always liked Stallone movies. And one of my favorites is Cobra. One of Sylvester Stallone best movies from my point of view. He really shows how to kick some bad guys butt. This a double sided disc. It also contains Tango & Cash, which for my surprise, was an excellent movie as well. Kurt Russell and Stallone make a good different team. Both movies are in the full screen format. Cobra can be watched in English, Spanish or French whereas Tango & Cash only in English or French. The movies have English, Spanish, and French subtitles.

Movies are 10/10, disc may cause PS4 issues
No comment on the movies - they are clearly two of the best 'bad' movies to have on while gaming or whatever. Just a comment on the disc itself - careful in a PS4. The disc sides are so smooth, my PS4 almost couldn't spit it out. I had to wait until it was cool, then eject, then grab onto the small portion that made it out and pull.

Very Good Double Feature for being in the 80's
Both Cobra,Tango & Cash are cop movies, both were excellent in the 80's, Cobra played by Stallone Goes after a Psychotic Serial Killer & action is good, & in Tango & Cash, Stallone & Kurt Russell are two cops from two different worlds, Kurt Russell is a Los Angeles Detective while Stallone is a Beverly Hills Detective, Competition heats up when both are framed for a crime they didn't commit, They have no choice but to work together & when they do, It's Explosive.

Exciting Movies
I love both of these movies. They are nonstop action. Sylvester Stallone does a great job acting in both. They both must see movies for Stallone fans.
