Timberlandmens Classic Leather Jean Belt 1.4 Inches Wide

I worked in the leather industry for years and the term "Full Grain" is seen rarely because it's more expensive. Full grain is actually a solid piece of the hide and very durable like a leather jacket or boots are made of. The trick of the trade is to say "Genuine Leather" which means pieces/scraps of leather are chemically processed and pressed together to make "Bonded Leather". This belt and 90% of belts and leather accessories (wallets, cheap shoes etc.) are bonded.The price is your first sign and the next would be where its made. This belt was stamped "Made in India", RED FLAG~! Any other foreign country is a cause to really double check.It's very hard to check now a days as these plants are getting very good at making bonded look like full grain. My main method is looking and feeling the edges of the belt. If it's more rough to the feel and not smooth its probably full grain. The smooth edge is a coating to keep the pressed pieces form coming apart.

I had a Timberland belt that I've worn practically everyday for last 23 years, unless I was wearing a suit. I've worn the belt to 9 different countries traveling hundreds of thousands if not millions of miles with it. A couple weeks ago the buckle broke. I saw this one and tried it. Its a piece of junk. It Doesn't even feel like real leather. I'm actually hoping that it is a counterfeit product, because I'd hate to think that Timberland made this garbage.

Well I kept this new belt in my closet not playing attention to details, I had old timberland belt and I was looking to get the same one because this old one was so good .Well after I try the new belt and looking very close I discover this new one is so muchdifferent than my old one, everything is much better with my old one the leather is much better quality the buckle is much stronger and better looking .I don’t know looks like I have to call timberland and find out what is going on here do I have a fake Timberland belt here ?Update: After some time the belt is so bad I trash it is made so cheap is just waisted my money

This belt started showing signs of wear only two weeks into ownership. Not only that, but it STAINS clothing worn with it! The edge of the belt, where a soft rubbery "bead" is run around the edge, is to blame for both of these problems. It appears that the soft rubbery substance is rubbing off on anything it touches. I should have guessed this considering it has an almost tacky texture to it, but I was hoping it was just because the belt was new and that the tackiness would go away with time. That has not happened. Instead, the rubbery substance has stained my khakis black around the waist and the belt itself has frayed bits of string coming out of the edges - these began to show about two weeks in but I did not notice the staining until later. All-in-all, this belt is not only not worth the price, but it has actually cost me an additional $50+ by ruining a pair of pants. If I could go back in time and buy anything but this belt, I would. Even a belt that fell apart after a week would have been better, because at least it wouldn't ruin my pants too!If I could give zero or negative stars I would.

I owned another Timberland men's jean belt (which I am *extremely* happy with) but lost some weight, so I decided to purchase new ones in both brown and black. The only reason I gave this 4 stars is for my personal preferences and expectations. It wasn't quite what I was expected compared to my original belt. This belt (for better or worse) is made of much more supple/soft leather. I prefer a jean belt that is a little stiffer. The other thing is that the finish on this belt is very much matte. Again, my preference would have been for a shinier finish. Overall, it seems to be a very good quality belt.

I needed a brown belt that was about 1.5"...so, that I could wear it with jeans or casual slacks...and, it had to be 100% leather. I stress that, because after reading dozens of Amazon reviews of mens' belts, I found that the majority were 'pleather', plastic, paper by-products, or pressed leather laminates. Sheesh!This belt was advertised as leather, the right color, the right width. I ordered my size, and hoped for the best. It was better!The belt fits perfectly, felt 'broken-in' from the very start, and even after having it around my waist for 15 consecutive hours, it was still really comfortable. I will agree with some reviewers who said that the color of the belt doesn't perfectly match that of the photo...it is a little bit lighter. However, that only shows off the contrasting stitching even more. It looks high quality, feels that way, had no funky odor (which you always get with cheap leather/pseudo-leather products), fit perfectly and was comfy.Not sure what else you can ask for from a belt...especially at this price point. I recommend it!

Referring to the stitched version - bought this belt in February 2016 and have been wearing several times per week since then with great wear! See my pictures! Have just ordered 2 more. I like the 1-1/4" width, too.

Belt was very soft and stretched considerably. I had a difficult time getting the belt though the belt loops since it had no rigidity. Also the black "paint" on the sides of the belt was sticky and seemed to want to come off. The belt stretched so much that I used my drill to add new holes and fold the belt so that its out of the way. I usually buy my belt from Carhart, but needed something in a hurry.
