Good no grit gluten free flour
Yum yum, I am on a new gluten-free diet and I love this stuff!!! I had no idea that there was a such thing as a light buckwheat flour. I have been using the Bob's buckwheat flour for the past six months. I bought, "Against the Grain" cookbook, and this flour is in most of the recipes. The flour works well with most recipes. Some recipes, such as the pizza crusts and slightly leaven breads...additional tapioca starch and baking flour are needed. However, that has nothing to do with the flour, just my inexperience with gluten-free baking. The flour has a very neutral flavor and no grit. I can have waffles again!!!!!!! Yeaaaaaa, thank you GOD!!! There is nothing worse that a gritty, heavy, gluten-free waffle. Now, if only I can make a gluten-free biscuit that tastes as good as the original!

Great gluten free buckwheat flour
Gluten free buckwheat flour hard to come by because of cross contamination. I highly recommend this product - great flour, great family owned company - made in America. The only other comment would be to be careful when using - the nutrient rich flour turns a golden color that can stain counters and clothing when it gets wet. But certainly not a deterrent in my book to use this fabulous product - you just need to be aware this can happen. I'm really happy I've found a reliable source for a superior quality buckwheat flour that tastes great!

Mild flavor buckwheat and needs to be better packaged for shipping
First time trying this buckwheat flour. Compared to the dark buckwheat flour I regularly use, this is very mild flavored. The flour seems to be milled very finely, which is great for baked goods. The only unfortunate issue I had is the packaging. The bag of flour was placed in a box with a little bubble wrap inside. This is a food product and should be packaged properly. The paper bag should be placed in a sealed plastic bag not only to keep the flour from contamination but, also so that in the event the bag tears, the flour won't spill out into the packaging. My wasn't torn badly but, there was a small tear on the bag and as a result, there was loose flour in the box.

Really delicious
My kid was diagnosed with celiac in January and I’ve been experimenting with a variety of cookbooks and recipes. One cookbook often calls specifically for “light buckwheat flour” which I had a hard time sourcing, even in NYC, so I ordered this. So glad I did! I have made pastry (!), crepes, and tonight we made the pizza recipe on the side of the bag and we’ve declared it our favorite since going gluten free. Expensive, but amazing. Highly recommend.

This flour has ruined every recipe I’ve tried lol
I like buckwheat and have used other brands but this is the first time I’ve used this brand. The powder Roa ULTRA fine and our recipes turn out dense, dry and YELLOW. Like a weird chalky almost playdoh yellow. I’ve looked all over online and can’t find anyone whose buckwheat recipes result in a yellow dough and past recipes I’ve made with buckwheat flour never did this. I’d tried my past recipes with this new flour but I’d hate to waste any more time or ingredients. Perhaps this has specific uses than other buckwheat flours and I’m just using it wrong, but I definitely wouldn’t recommend.

Consistently busted open with loss of flour in box
I love this flour. Regular buckwheat flours aren’t good to me but this flour is the BEST, for someone who has a baby who can’t tolerate any grains but buckwheat. I have bought this straight from Bouchard Farms website many times and started using Amazon to save shipping time and use my Amazon card, but every single time it’s busted open with 1/3 of the bag gone. I don’t remember the Bouchard packaging enough to guess why that is but they need to do something to items like this such as add bubble wrap. Going back to buying from the source.
