Used on fence panels
Well it's rather difficult to assert that this stuff does the job it says it does on the tin, although I've been using it on my 13 fence panels for some time. I originally used it about 4 years ago and the fence is still in good condition so recently bought more to repeat the process. It doesn't colour the fence, just (hopefully) protects it from water and insects. I actually bought two tins of it since I use a spray to get the treatment into the hard to reach spots, and the spray gets through a litre of product for every one and a half fence panels. You might find it goes further with a brush, but then it takes a lot longer to get the job done. I know because two panels were close to a neighbours fishpond so I do use a brush on the upper parts of those panels (this treatment is toxic to aquatic life) to avoid spraying over the top of the fence. Cleaning equipment is simple enough, just put some washing up liquid and warm water in the spray's container and run it through to clean out any product left in the spray. Then rinse out with a spray of clean water. So, easy to use with a spray, in fact preparing the fence (removing ivy, green patches etc.) takes longer than doing the job.

Good stuff if used properly.
Have used Sika products for years and have used this before and found it effective. I think some people have had poor results because they have used it on wet wood, it is not made for that. It works well on damp wood/rot and soaks in well. Personally I would dry the wood/rot as much as possible then apply it. It will be drawn into the rot. Also it is not a hardener, you need to use another product for that.

Easy to apply, no bad smell
In our new house, the dishwasher had been leaking for a while, soaking into the floor. Looking under the floor there was evidence of some damp in the timbers as well as a few woodboring insect holes (probably woodworm) in that specific area of the floor joists - the woodworm obviously liked the damp wood. After fixing the leak and letting the wood dry out for a couple of weeks, I applied this wood treatment to the flooring and floor joists in that area, and the surrounding area - a couple of coats, waiting for the first coat to dry before applying the second. It was easy to apply, and soaked in quickly. It didn't smell bad, or much at all to me, so wasn't that unpleasant to work with. Obviously I wore gloves, eye protection and a face mask, just in case. The problem with reviewing things like this is that you can't tell if it's worked, only if it hasn't, and it's too soon to tell that.
