Lovely Notebooks - Perfect for Bullet Journaling
I've kept a bullet journal since 2018 in different forms, sometimes going all in with decorating it & getting creative and sometimes focusing on function and utility. I've had two Leuchtturm 1917s, a Rhodia, a moleskine, and an unbranded note book from a pound shop, and after using a magenta Stationary Island notebook for most of 2023, I've just bought two more while they were on sale! I find this notebook has exactly what I need without frills and whistles - a sturdy cover that's lasted the year and still looks great, well-sewn pages that stand up to frequent use (where glued ones often come loose), a 5mm dot grid that makes setting layouts and measuring things out with a ruler really easy, and thick enough pages that the pens I use don't seep through (Micron art markers of various thicknesses, Tombow brush nibs, Staedler triplus, other standard pens), two bookmarks and a back pocket. I love the range of colours they have and I think these are well-designed notebooks. While you can find cheaper A5 dot grid notebooks, I have yet to find one cheaper that can compete with the pricier Leuchtturms and Rhodias as well as this one does. I can't see me ever going back!

Very happy!!!
If you are looking for an ideal bullet journal, please consider this product! I have previously used the Leuchtturm dot grid journal and whilst they seem to be the "go to" for the majority, I was becoming more and more frustrated with them because of the thin paper and, most importantly, the price. And whilst this notebook lacks the numbered pages and the index pages at the front, I've not found this to be an issue. I like the fact that each page can (and should) be personalised. I've not missed the page numbers at all, preferring to create my own markers for more referenced pages - much easier! The paper is nice and definitely better than the Leuchtturm, it's all down to the thickness, or weight which is 120gsm. Takes my pens very well and, I've yet to try any watercolors on the paper though, but I don't think that that would be too much trouble. The colour is a pleasant off white colour and the dots don't appear to be too dark, so not too obtrusive and prominent either. And the price? Makes you wonder how they could produce a product that is superior in use to anything else on the market at this price point. If I can live without the page numbers and index pages at the front, then I will for this price. The cover is very tactile and sturdy with 2 colour bookmarks of complimentary colours to that of the cover, of which there are many. You're bound to find a colour that suits you and your purpose. Arrived promptly and I could track the progress down to the actual time that it would arrive too. Overall, I'm initially very impressed with this journal and would be considering future purchases from this company.

AMAZING quality
i've ordered 3 of these notebooks, maybe 4? the paper quality is amazing, ink doesnt bleed through, you cant even see the ink on the other side of the paper. theres many pages, and it feels great to write in, it doesnt come with a pen holder unfortunately, so i've had to stick my own in. i like the elastic band quite a bit, and the colour options too.

Great for Creative Planning, Paper Is on the Thin Side
As an artist, I use this A5 dotted notebook to plan out design ideas, jot notes, and sketch rough layouts—it’s become a real staple in my workflow. The dot grid format is perfect: it keeps my writing structured without getting in the way of quick sketches or designs. It strikes a great balance between function and freedom. 🖊️ Paper Quality Test: The paper is rated at 120 gsm and feels smooth to the touch and of a high-quality. That said, I ran a viability test with different pens and markers—most standard pens show visible ghosting on the reverse side. There was some minor bleed-through with alcohol markers, but honestly, that’s expected. It’s not marker paper, and most notebooks struggle with that. The good news? There was no bleeding onto the next page, so you won’t damage anything behind it. 👍 What I Love: • Dotted layout is ideal for sketching + structured notes • Perfect for visual thinkers and creatives • Lightweight and easy to carry • Sleek minimalist design ⚠️ What Could Be Better: • Thin paper: noticeable ghosting with darker ink • Alcohol markers bleed slightly, but well-contained Overall Verdict: If you mostly use pencils, fineliners, or gel pens, this notebook is a great companion for design and brainstorming work.

Wonderful versatile bujo at a great price point
I've been using Stationery Island's bujos for a little while now and I definitely will recommend them. Nice and sturdy, strong cover, lovely colours, great binding, with just the perfect GSM and smooth ivory paper. 120GSM can easily take Mildliners, Supertips, most archival ink pens (Copic multiliners, Fudenosuke pens), etc. Just the right weight for dutch doors, too. I would be careful with alcohol markers and paint of any kind though, you probably want 160GSM for that. Only complaints are that the pages aren't numbered (but you can easily solve this yourself) and the grid spacing is a bit of an odd dimension (26 across, 40 down) but you can make it work.

Very high quality for the price!
I have purchased 3 times now, a really good quality notebook for a good price! It holds up even after junk journalling which makes the book very stick. Very sturdy!

Work bullet journal
Using this as a work bullet journal and so far its really good, the only issue i have is knowing how to set it up but that's nothing to do with the book. The paper feels a good quality and theres 2 dividers which is good for organising.

PERFECT PAPER in Sattionary Island A5 Dotted Notebook - Hardcover Bullet Grid Journal
There is another popular brand of bujo's but I wasn't a fan of its paper but this Stationary Island dotted notebook is SOOO much better. The 120gsm paper is fantastic and this means I can use so many more different kinds of pens without it bleeding through. I can't wait to try water colour with it. I think with a waterbrush n not lots of layers it should be ok. There are 180 pages and I'm really enjoying using it and HIGHLY RECOMMEND this journal. The binding is sewn, so it will last well, the cover is synthetic so if you are not a fan of leather its ok. There is an envelope style pocket in the back like you get with Moleskines. Thanks to the sewn not glued on binding, it lays flat on the table when open, making it a JOY to use. What it doesn't have, that some bujos come with. Index page Numbered pages. When I looked up the name once it arrived, the company is in Nottingham, so less air miles for this one too. I am going to get another to practice lettering in. This notebook is totally fantastic and I recommend it to anyone who is more interested in paper and binding quality over the 'classic brand' often promoted for journalling. I have one of those recommended brand Bujos the 'L.....' and the paper was SO thin that unless you only use biro, everything else bleed through. Stationary Island dotted journals imho is WAY better. PS: GSM stand for Grams per square meter and is the weight of the paper. For reference most standard printer paper is 80 gsm. SO if you are choosing a journal, look for the GSM to tell you how thick the paper will be for comparison.

Good notebook
It's a good notebook for the price. The paper is pretty good, even thicker than the Leuchtturm1017, but a little lighter (not as yellowish). I have just used it for a cople of days but seems solid.

Very good buy
I love this journal. It is beautiful and had a nice packaging. The pages are thick so that the fineliner does not come through to the other side. Very satisfied!
