This does not slide up or scrunch. It stretches on your head and holds in place without being tight. It stayed in place all day for me. Hope this helps!

Is it possible to purchase another pom pom?

No. The hat and the pom pom are separate when they arrive. The hat has the female end of a large snap sewn onto the hat. The pom pom has the male end and you snap the pom pom onto the hat. The snap stayed closed but fell off the hat. So the pom pom now has both ends of the snap. You could always sew the snap more securely onto the hat before you attach the pom pom. Hope this makes sense....and helps.
