what are the pros and cons of the two different ways the rope is made?

This skipping rope which you asked is made of high-density solid PVC cable and covered with two layers of high-strength industrial composite fabric, The skipping rope has a protective cover, can reduce the damage to the cable when it is used on outdoor or other abrasive surfaces. The other PVC skipping rope, the whole cable is made of high density solid PVC cable, it's slightly heavier than the first one, about 1.7oz(48g) difference. We Recommends limiting or avoiding the use of this jump rope on abrasive surfaces, as it can decrease the lifespan of the rope cable.

Does anyone know the weight of just the rope?

0.93lbs (14.82 ounces). It's a great jump rope, and I can't wait to use it again once I heal from my cancer surgery. P. S. You can always cut the jump rope down to length too. Good luck!

Is the rope weighted or the handles?

Yes, the rope is weighted from either 1/4lb to a 1/2lb depending which one you order. I ordered the 1/2lb and it’s more than enough for a great workout

Wich one is heavier, the p-01 red or the n-01 red?
