RC-898M Replaced Remote fit for Onkyo AV Receiver TX-NR747 TX-NR545 TX-NR646 TXNR747 TXNR545 TXNR646

Needed a new remote to work with my Onyko TX-NR545 receiver and this was just what the doctor ordered. Was having multiple issues controlling several remote functions, changing inputs, volume etc and this new remote was instantly recognized by my receiver and was a pleasure having full functionality back so that I didn’t have to keep getting up to manually work my receiver which was becoming a real big pain in my you know what. The layout of the remotes buttons were exactly the same as my old remote making it extremely easy remembering what buttons did what. Was well worth the price to regain the use of my remote again and highly recommend it.

The remote is identical to the original and works out of the box without any setup required.

The input buttons are great, as they follow the receiver itself, however, this remote will not enter the “programming” mode, in order to program other devices, etc.

This remote is perfect if you ONLY want to control your Onkyo receiver. I rather suspect most people have other things they'd like to control besides just the receiver. For example, if you also want to control a Samsung TV, a Sony Blu-Ray player, an AT&T DVR, or any other brand of peripheral equipment, you're out of luck. It is NOT programmable for any other brands. For me, it's useless and I returned it for a full refund.

My old remote was wearing out,especially the volume control. This remote worked right out of the box not only for the volume but I was able to access and adjust all settings in the menu. Now my bedroom Onkyo receiver is sounding great again. I highly recommend.
