I do not know if this product is 100% cruelty free but I would say if it were, they would have proudly labeled it cruelty free.

I'm looking for a rough scrub, more like a dermabrasion type scrub. Does this have a rough scrub, or it's more gentle?

I would say a “medium” amount of scrub. If you’re looking for more of microdermabrasion I would go with the one from Body Shop’s vitamin c line! But the Amazon product is a nice daily scrub.
