Closest Vegan GF alternative to caramel I’ve found!
I have been looking for a dairy free, gluten free caramel sauce for a while. I read many reviews and ingredient lists and getting something made with real food was also important. Hey Boo Vegan Coconut Caramel sauce met the criteria so I tried it.As soon as it came, I tried a plain spoonful. It had a definite coconut oil flavor, but also a caramel flavor. The consistency is very nice, it’s lighter and fluffier than traditional caramel sauce. Because it is coconut based, it doesn’t need to be refrigerated after opening, so the consistency will always be the same which is nice. The next night I tried it on my favorite ice cream, So Delicious Salted Caramel Cashew Vegan ice cream. Interestingly, the coconut oil flavor disappeared once it was on the ice cream. It was really good! This morning, I made a caramel latte with Better Half coconut cream and almond milk cream, coffee and the caramel. It was awesome! Again, the coconut oil taste disappeared and it was just creamy caramel goodness.I’m definitely going to buy this again. I won’t be eating the caramel by itself due to the coconut oil flavor, but let’s be real, that’s a good thing because the last thing my butt needs is for me to be eating caramel sauce by the jar.I avoid plastic whenever possible so was glad it came in a glass jar. It shipped well wrapped in bubble wrap and arrived in great condition. I received it in April 2023 and the best before date is 3/21/25. It won’t last nearly that long! It has a fresh taste and smell. I’m so glad to have found this product.

Heaven in a jar
This stuff is SO GOOD. I mean. SO. GOOD. Vegan or no, this is the best caramel sauce I've ever tried. It's so creamy and delicious, it goes great on ice cream, on cookies, or straight from the jar! I almost feel guilty eating it because I don't think it's vegan safe... but it is! (Note that this is currently the only flavor of caramel from Hey Boo that is vegan, though it doesn't say it on the jar; the other flavors are not vegan-safe.) This caramel is awesome because it's coconut based, so the sauce doesn't harden and get stuck in your teeth as you eat it, like how I remember "regular" caramel does. If any gets stuck in your teeth, it melts really quickly so you're not picking at your teeth or constantly trying to dissolve it with your tongue. The only thing I was worried about was the size of the jar, but because of just the quality of how good this caramel is, you really don't *need* a lot to get full enjoyment out of it, so a little bit can go a long way (if your self-control lets you maintain a good sense of portion control, that is). So forget about the price-- forget about the size of the jar-- you really do get what you pay for, and once you try this amazing, heavenly creation, no other caramel sauce will even come close to comparing to the goodness that is Hey Boo's coconut caramel.

Not caramel..
This is no way resembles or tastes like caramel. It is more along the lines of say apple butter. It is more on the creamy side versus a thick caramel consistency. The coconut flavor is front and center which takes you by suprise if you have had caramel in the past. My son does has a dairy allergy and the most spot on caramel that's out there is made by another dairy free chocolate company. This would still be great on ice cream or for dipping fruit. It's not bad at all but it should not be refered to as caramel and it also should be stated that this is overtly sweet.

Doesn't taste like Torani or Starbucks Caramel Sauce
This caramel sauce is good. Not the best tasting but it is the healthiest I've had. I say not the best tasting because it doesn't taste like the caramel sauces I've had in the past. It's an acquired taste. When I first tasted it, my reaction was literally "wtf is this shit". It is nutty, sure, but that's not exactly it. I can't put my finger... or tongue on it. It tastes good to me now after getting 3/4 through the jar. I will say, this stuff is pricey but I think it's worth it. I'm lactose intolerant and the non dairy aspect is a huge plus. I have used this in both hot and iced coffee and on ice cream. In the coffee, I used a spoonful of this, a teaspoon of sugar, and some fairlife (lactose free) milk. I mostly use just sugar and drizzle the caramel on top, as seen in the photos. However, I wanted to know how the caramel melts in the coffee. It doesn't take but a few stirs when it's in hot coffee but ice coffee takes a while and it doesn't 100% melt into it. I'd say 90% because I'd still have a small layer of caramel coating the spoon. I also used this on ice cream as a drizzle. It's very smooth and drizzles easily. Think Torani or Starbucks caramel sauce consistency.Ultimately, after acquiring a taste for it and considering the price, I will definitely buy it again. It would be nice if they offered a larger size. I am almost done with my jar in about a week of what I consider light use. One coffee a day and a few bowls of ice cream per week. I would recommend this product. I gave it 4/5 stars because of the acquired taste and price.

Impressive
I was looking for a nondairy caramel sauce I could use for coffee recipes and decided to try this one. The taste is not identical to regular caramel sauce, so as long as you go in knowing that, you shouldn't be disappointed. Coconut caramel is the perfect way to describe the taste. It's sweet, but not too sweet and the coconut flavor is not overpowering at all. It's a little pricey for the size, but I'd rather pay more for better ingredients rather than buy a cheap sauce with crappy ingredients. I transferred the sauce to a squeeze bottle to make it easier to drizzle, but I like that it comes in a glass jar. Really tasty, I have to stop myself from just eating it out of the jar. I already ordered a second jar.
