Perfect Notebook – Stylish, Functional, and High-Quality
The LEUCHTTURM1917 Hardcover Notebook (Medium A5) is an absolute joy to use and has quickly become my favorite notebook for journaling, note-taking, and planning. Here’s why I’m giving it 5 stars: What I Love: 1. Elegant Design The look and feel of this notebook are exceptional. The hardcover has a sleek, professional appearance, and the wide range of available colors makes it easy to find one that fits your style. The smooth finish of the cover feels premium, and it’s durable enough to withstand daily use. 2. Numbered Pages The numbered pages are a standout feature that I didn’t realize I needed until now. It makes organizing my notes so much easier, especially when paired with the included table of contents at the front. Whether you’re journaling, taking meeting notes, or using it for creative projects, the numbering adds a layer of functionality that sets this notebook apart. 3. Paper Quality The 80gsm paper is high-quality and works well with most pens, including fountain pens, with minimal ghosting or bleed-through. It’s smooth and pleasant to write on, making the act of writing a more enjoyable experience. 4. Perfect Size The A5 size is ideal—compact enough to carry around but large enough to accommodate plenty of notes. It fits perfectly in my bag without adding unnecessary bulk. 5. Thoughtful Features The notebook includes two ribbon bookmarks, an elastic closure, and a pocket at the back for storing loose papers or small notes. These small details show the attention to functionality and make it a truly complete package. Final Thoughts: The LEUCHTTURM1917 Hardcover Notebook combines style, practicality, and quality in one beautifully crafted product. The numbered pages and overall thoughtful design make it stand out from other notebooks I’ve tried. If you’re someone who values organization and enjoys writing, this is the perfect notebook for you. 5 stars, without hesitation—highly recommend it to anyone looking for a versatile and premium notebook!

Great for journaling
I bought two of these journals. One for bullet journaling and the other for everyday writing. The one for everyday writing is perfect. The one I used for bullet journaling is a different story. At 80gsm, markers bleeeed thru. Attaching stickers, pictures.. I’ve found that the pages were too thin to accommodate the weight of it. I recommend 100 to 120 gsm for bullet journals. In all, a really nice journal but there are plenty of other companies that have comparable journals for a fraction of the price.

Love these
I keep buying one every time I run out. I use them for bullet journals. They are perfect. The pages are numbered and there is room for an index at beginning. Two placeholders and an elastic to keep it shut. You can fit a pen in the elastic so it's ready to go at all times.

2020 Bullet Journal for me!
I've found one journal that I absolutely love because at some point in time, you need to go for quality. This is a little darker than the teal green that I am accustomed to but the grids help me plan, outline and execute my projects and thoughts. Journaling puts me at ease and I can tell that for myself, processing information helps on a daily basis. It did take me probably two hours to put together my journalling calendar, but its so worth it!

Disappointed. I like my other Leuchtturm1997's, but the graphing lines are too dark on this one.
This review is for a Pacific Green, graphed, Leuchtturm1917 notebook. I have several Leuchtturm1997 notebooks. I have used lined, dotted and now my latest is using graphing lines (see the first two photos comparing them). I generally like them and find them to be good quality for the price. However... I'll first cover the things I don't like about it and then get to what I do like. The only things I don't like about this graphed, Pacific Green notebook I have is the 2-page table of contents (see more below), and how dark the graphing lines are. My biggest issue is the graphing lines. They are not light graphing lines that can just be used as a guide in the background. They are fairly dark; not quite as dark as the lines in the lined notebook version, but still darker than I think is necessary or wanted (see photo #2 comparing the Graphed, lined and dotted Leuchtturm1917 notebooks). I was worried about this when I ordered it, but several reviews said they were light enough that they are not distracting and just fade into the background. As an engineer, I am used to engineering graphing paper that has very light graphing lines that literally do not show up when you make a photocopy (see comparison in Photo #7). These would actually get darker on a photocopy. I wanted this as something of a journal & idea book that I can use to create both journal in and make tables & graphs/sketches on. I don't think this will work for that. It is also going to be hard to journal/write over the lines as they will be very distracting. I am not sure what I will do with this notebook. Maybe I will give it to one of my kids as I doubt I can return it after taking the plastic off of it. As for things I do like about this notebook and all the others I have. I like the thickness/number of pages (this graphed and the lined have 251 usable pages; the dotted Bullet Journal has 240). They are fairly sturdy notebooks although drops or too much force will crush or break the cover just like any hardcover. The cover is not completely stiff but has a little bend to it, which is something I like as it makes it feel more like a journal/notebook that you want to keep on you rather than a textbook that should be left on the shelf. As a personal preference I like the earth tone nature/feel of the colors. There is a 2-page (facing pages) table of contents in the lined and graphed notebooks, and a 4-page index in the dotted Bullet Journal version. I prefer the 4-page index and don't understand why they can't make the table of contents 4-pages too. The paper is decent quality although my gel pens do show through a bit. That is not a big issue for me. The paper may not be "archival" quality for some, but for my needs I am sure they will last a lifetime of storage. I hope this review helps someone else.

Love these journals
I've bought these notebooks for a few years. They are awesome quality. I'm disappointed that there aren't more colors. I'd love for white to come back and if they had colors like camel, some greys I'd love that. I bought an army green one too but don't like the red print as much as the grey (but I admit, the red looks amazing when the journal is closed). Love these journals, just please- more neutral colors!

Whether I'm using fountain pens, gel pens, or markers, the pages of this notebook never fail to provide a smooth, enjoyable writing experience. The dot grid pattern offers just the right balance between structure and freedom, making it ideal for everything from bullet journaling to sketching out ideas. Moreover, the durability of the Leuchtturm1917 Notebook is truly impressive. Despite being carried around daily in my bag, it has held up remarkably well, with no signs of wear and tear. The sturdy hardcover provides protection for the pages inside, ensuring that my thoughts and plans are safeguarded for years to come. One of the standout features of this notebook is its attention to detail in organization. With numbered pages and a built-in index, keeping track of my notes and ideas has never been easier. The included bookmarks are a thoughtful touch, allowing me to quickly access frequently used sections without any hassle. I repeatedly buy these journals - partly because i like a catalogue of equally sized journals but also because they are so reliable! Once you open your journal, you’re greeted with useful stickers and information about the journal. The journal will also LAY FLAT on a table (that’s quite important for me). It is key to note that the pages aren’t very thick - if you’re planning to use ink pens and alcohol markers - you’re going to get a lot of shadowing and a bit of bleeding. But a papermate inkjoy doesn’t do any harm! The squares are very nicely spaced - not too small but not too large. and the pages are also a cream colour rather than bright white! The lines are there, but not screaming in your face.
