An Absolute Joy
I enjoyed this second installment every bit as much as the first. The story is filled with fun, imaginative characters, and I especially admired Zita for her strength and compassion. It's a quick read with gorgeous illustrations—an absolute joy from beginning to end.

Not sure who loved it more, me or my kids!
I have seen 4 young boys (ages 4-7) spend 45 minutes pouring over this book. Hopefully that alone is enough to get you to check it out. Not convinced? When Legends of Zita showed up in the mail I hid it from my kids because I was too eager to have to wait for them to read it first. Thus I can safely say that all members of our household give Zita a huge stamp of approval. The first book, Zita the Spacegirl is a delightful 10. Book #2, Legends of Zita, goes all the way up to 11. Zita is now the hero of the universe after saving the Scriptorian’s planet. But having planets full of fans is an exhausting responsibility for a young Earth girl so she jumps at the chance to flee the spotlight when a robotic Zita look-a-like appears. Unfortunately this leads to Zita and Mouse getting separated from their friends, who are drawn to Lumponia so that (robot) Zita can save the Lumponians from killer star hearts. Often times, plots that pull the protagonist away from a beloved cast of characters sucks the wind out of the story. But here it creates the opportunity for Zita to expand her galactic family with additional compelling characters like Dobblelganger, Madrigal, Glissando, etc. In lesser hands this might make the story too busy but Hatke deftly keeps each character engaging and cleverly uses visual and dialogue to both propel the story forwards while giving just enough glimpses into each character’s back-story. Legends of Zita has more humor but also more melancholy. Says Madrigal, “I think you’re like the rest of us. Just trying to hold things together while you find your way.” This sums up the position many of the characters find themselves in. Legends of Zita ends with Zita heading off on her own to find Mouse who had an unfortunate run-in with the Doom Squad. And also possibly to find a way home to earth. While I root for her potential rescue of Mouse, I can only hope that our spacegirl is flatly unsuccessful in finding her way home. Certainly my whole family cheers for her to stay in space as long as possible.

Heroine with a good heart
My Daughter loves this series and rereads them regularly. We first read the digital version from the library and she requested it regularly so we bought the series. Recommended for adventurous little girls!

Zita is back!
We fell in love with Zita for many reasons: first of all Zita is good, brave, kind, and cute! Then the characters created by Ben are unique, original, and hilarious! The story is fast-paced and very adventurous! The art is wonderful: Ben is a fantastic, talented and solid artist. We had pre-ordered the second volume, and when it arrived yesterday my eleven year old was so excited! She read it from cover to cover, and then came to me exclaiming that I must read it as well. Thank you Ben Hatke for the wonderful book! We read it again, aloud, and stopped to enjoy all of the intricacies of the artwork. My daughter is very artistic, and loves creating her own comics characters, and nothing escaped her. She also got the first Zita book out, and compared the two. After we were done, she went on Ben's blog to find out about the third Zita!

More great adventures!
This is another fun graphic novel for middle grade readers. Zita is a determined and courageous character who hopes to one day return to earth, in the meantime she has become a galactic hero after saving a planet in her first adventure (Zita the Spacegirl). Unfortunately fame has its price and when she is forced to steal a space ship to try to reconnect with her friends, she becomes a wanted fugitive. Can she catch up to her friends and save another planet from doom? Of course she can, she is Zita the Spacegirl! I highly recommend this series to readers who enjoy a light, fun, quick read full of interesting characters, great plot twists, and creative settings. The illustrations are bright and appealing, the action intense but not graphic. I look forward to many more Zita adventures.

Excellant Graphic Novel for Children
My seven year-old daughter insisted on buying the first Zita the Space Girl graphic novel and she loved it so much that as soon as this one was available we bought it for her. Like the first Zita novel, the drawings in this novel are richly colored and captivating. It features plenty of action, robots, and space aliens. A couple of scenes in the book will surely go over your 7-8 year-old child's head, but that does not do anything to the story. My daughter loves reading the Zita books, and reads them over-and-over. It is also a favorite of our four year-old. He asks us to read one chapter at a time of the "New Zita" book on a regular basis. If he cannot find my wife or me, he asks his sister to read it for him.

Greatly Enjoyed Zita
I've given the first two Zita books to my 7 year old granddaughter, and she and her 9 year old brother love them. She and a friend also love drawing the characters. I greatly enjoyed reading Legends of Zita with my granddaughter. The characters are quirky, the story's entertaining and humorous, the message's great, the artwork's wonderful, and some of the puns are a bit above my granddaughter's head. The book leaves enough of Zita's tale unfinished that I'll be gladly giving my granddaughter the third and final book in this trilogy at Christmas. Highly recommended.

Zita is only stranded, not defeated !
This is a very good graphic novel for all ages and genders,it's simply brilliant ! This volume attempts to turns our hero into a zero,I'm afraid.Poor old Zita. Still, being Zita, she'll no doubt come up with a plan to reverse her..,er...,fortunes. She's dumped Piper,or was it the other way round...? Anyway,Zita meets a new and VERY helpful ally ? As with the previous book, not everything is that simple, thank goodness, otherwise we wouldn't have a series of the Great Zita. So,yep, she zips around space but in this book, she draws the attention of the 'Authorities'. Some of this unwanted attention is due to Zita's actions but not all. Sometimes it's just being in the wrong place at the right time ! If you see what I mean. You know,to get involved in even more great adventures....,Go Zita...,My hero ! Oh,I forgot to mention the fantastic artwork and the vivid colours and the brilliant dialogue. And the great characters and overall story. There,I've done it. Don't believe Me ? Please, read the book and see if I'm wrong. I DARE you !

Una superheroina diferente
Zita nos encanta. Es fuerte, decidida, valiente. No es una princesa ñoña y sus aventuras están plagadas de guiños a historias como Doctor Who o la narrativa clásica. Genial.
