If you think packing a cot to sleep on in the backcountry is too much of a luxury, you haven't tried the UltraLite Cot from LuxuryLite, a 3 lb cot that packs down to 16 inches long with a 5-inch diameter. Sleep on a stable comfortable bed measuring 24 x 74 inches, it keeps you cool in summer while air circulates beneath you - for warmth in winter, simply stack your sleeping pads on top of it.

Excellent design, not quite high enough
Although I am below the weight limit, I bottomed this out in one spot when sleeping on my side, which defeats the purpose of owning it a little. I still rated it very high because it is extremely light and you can't beat their guaranteed lifetime replacement of parts. If they make one a little higher (more ground clearance,) I would definitely try it again. I just needed another inch of clearance to sleep without a pressure point and would gladly take on the small weight to be on a cot for backpack camping. Ended up getting a tent hammock instead, which served my purposes as well, right up until we end up camping somewhere without trees............. in which case, I'll keep checking for a new version of this with a little more "lift."

Amazing US made product.
The only thing this cot lacks is good marketing. This product is a nicely made cot that is very light and comfortable. It can be a bit to set up, you have to read the instructions. It isn't noisy like military style cots. It is quiet, ultralight and sleeps well. I would buy it again and I even travel with it because it is better than friends couches. At this weight, why be uncomfortable. They are made in Texas and as far as I can tell, they just need to figure out how to market better. I would have bought this years ago if I had known about them. Perfect for car camping, wet weather and wet ground, hiking, trips, military personel(like me). Not good for high altitude mountaineering.

Great for bad backs
After having back surgery, I found myself unable to sleep on the ground anymore. The standard self inflating pads and other gimmicks don't do it for me.I ordered this package cot and have to say, I'm impressed. I am a BIG dude. Both tall and heavy. This incredibly small thing supports me very well and seems to be holding up just fine. It packs into a very small package that packs easily. Assembly is a bit of a trick the first few times but it gets much easier as you do it more.Queen size feather top it is not. But for something this svelt and small, it is a big keeper for those who want/need more support in the woods.

Haiti Tested
I purchased the UltraLite Cot by LuxuryLite as a gift for my son who travels the world. Lite, compact and well recommended were the primary considerations. My son reports from his Haiti trip, the cot provided a superior nights rest over and above every other product he has ever tried. This cot, he said, was a miracle. His next trip is to India in March 2011, and the Ultralite Cot will be packed first.

This cot is by far the best ever. Very well designed
I've been using a lot of sleeping pads. This cot is by far the best ever. Very well designed . I get the best sleep camping. I give it four star because it is not the lightest. Compare this to inflatable sleeping pad, its a lot heavier. Anyway I am willing to sacrifice this for a good sleep until there is something better.

Great cot
This is very light weight for a cot. It was easy to put together and take apart. Instead of sleeping on the ground with snakes & scorpions, I'll be sleeping on this. I would have given it a 5 but it's a little too narrow so my arms don't fit next to my sides when laying on my back.

Super light and comfortable
The UltraLite Cot is compact and very light. I weigh around 220 lbs and find that it provides me with enough support. I have used it on camping trips, in the office and in my kids' rooms when they are having nightmares. I have always woken up refreshed. Why only four stars? I have broad shoulders and feel like the cot could be a little bit wider.

Challenging and time-consuming to assemble and dis-assemble, but very comfortable. I use a Thermarest mattress with it for additional insulation and comfort. Packs nicely into a small nylon bag. Be sure to keep the instructions with the bag. You may need to refer to instructions to assemble it. There is a knack to it.
