CZ P-10F Issues
I own a CZ P-10F with a threaded barrel and a flashlight modification. Being a full sized pistol, plus a threaded barrel, and a flashlight, it becomes a 9mm that's on the larger side of things. While I read reviews saying this gun fits no issue, I ran into some problems: -First, the foam was too big. Easy fix, I just cut it out to my specifications. -Second, if I don't put my gun in exactly one way, the sights have a very high chance of rubbing up against the battery chamber of the safe. That being said, so far it doesn't seem to have caused any damage to the sights (scratching.) -Third and BIGGEST issue almost defeats the purpose of a home defense weapon. I'm unable to fit my gun in the safe with the magazine inserted. It makes the gun too big, and the sights will just push up against the battery chamber, preventing closure and locking. You'll have to keep a round chambered, and a magazine on top of the flat part of the mounting bracket. At least that's what I do, and it seems okay. I wish I could keep it fully loaded though. You never know if the few seconds of fumbling in the dark will change an outcome of a situation. I wish I had purchased a slightly larger safe, but I really liked this style. I don't have the fingerprint sensor, and the keypad is very fast and responsive. For security, it seems average. I can't seem to find any flaws, and Lock Picking Lawyer covered this safe on YouTube, and the issue he found was solved. Plus it really helps to turn the beep off for silent entry. The gear that drops the safe open and releases the gun is louder than I'd like, but nothing can be done there. For protection in a smaller apartment, you could hear it from the front door no issue which is, of course, not good in the event of a home entry. Or maybe it is. The threat could be scared away by the sound, or worse could draw their weapon. The installation of this safe was rather easy, however if you have large hands like me, it will be very difficult to get the screw inside that holds onto the mounting bracket. Took me a good and very cramped 10 minutes before I was able to secure it to the mounting bracket. I had some slight bruising on my knuckles for a couple days. If you have a small handled house member, they are necessary for help. Would I buy this safe again? Maybe. If I had a smaller hand gun? Yes. If I had a full sized gun? Probably not. That being said, I do highly recommend this safe. It just isn't perfect for my specific handgun, but if you have a compact handgun it'll be fine. I hope this review can help anyone with a CZ P-10F, since no other reviews seem to mention these flaws.

Simple and works well. Buttons can be silent, or can beep if you like. Mechanism is not silent
It works well. Mounting it is a PITA as you have to access screws inside the box to mount it. Also changing the batteries is a PITA as it's awkward to reach into the box to get at the battery, and it's halfway in the box. Having said that, of course the mounting and battery compartment should be INSIDE the box. But just pointing out it's a bit of a pain for when you mount it and when you have to change batteries. It also comes with a round lock. I'm sure people will say that any good thief can easily pick any lock or defeat any electronic lock. Yes, sure, so concealment of the safe is important. However it will definitely keep visitors from opening it. And especially children who are over will not open it. You can teach your own kids gun safety, but you can't teach every friend who comes over. Also you want it to be discrete anyway so they shouldn't stumble on it, even if they are playing hide and seek and thing hiding behind your bed is a good idea. I added a video so you could hear that even with the button beeps off, the opening mechanism is not silent, it makes a whirring sound. Not a huge deal. It opens fast, as you can see. Punching in the wrong combo locks you out for a short time (less than a minute) What I don't like is that at the front the RPNB logo is very shiny and makes it obvious. Not that everyone knows what RPNB means, but the shininess does draw your eye to the logo and thus the safe. I colored mine in with a black sharpy, but since it is sort of embossed onto a small plate it's still visible. Some electrical tape would fix that. All in all, it does what it's supposed to. Allow you to store a pistol discretely and safely. It is CA DOJ approved too, so that's nice considering the new safe storage laws coming into effect in California in 2025. I don't know if it's visible in my video, but I found that after mounting the safe, there was a bit of wiggle between the safe and the mounting plate. I fixed that by cutting a piece of the shipping box that the safe came in and crammed it next to the safe. A temporary fix made permanent.

Quick-access safe that fits perfectly under our kitchen table
Really happy with this mounted safe. I actually modified our kitchen table so it could fit underneathโmy wife works from that spot during the day, so having fast, discreet access right there gives us huge peace of mind. Once mounted, it feels extremely solid and doesnโt shift at all. The keypad responds instantly, and the door pops open smoothly every time. For something this compact, the build quality is excellent and the design blends in far better than I expected. Pros: Fast and reliable keypad access Mounts securely, even in tight/unique spots Strong steel construction Smooth, quick-opening mechanism Stays discreet and out of sight Cons: Interior padding could be thicker Buttons can be a little loud in a quiet room

Attaching safe to bracket is a real struggle.
Pros..build quality is great. Open, closes great. Light up is nice. Opening door works great. Easy to install... Cons... only one. Trying to get the screw to start to bolt it to the bracket is absolutely a joke. Could have designed it better. Blood pressure was threw the roof. I wouldn't buy this again or recommend it.

Exactly what I was looking for
The office is on the opposite side of the house from where my main safe is. This is exactly what I was looking for to give me quick access from my desk. Reasonably priced, I don't feel like there was any need to buy something more expensive. The reality of these small pistol safes are that its main purpose is to prevent someone from accessing the firearm like a child, friends or say a repair person who is allowed to be in your home. In no way would i expect the safe to prevent someone who breaks in from taking it, either opening it by force or taking the whole safe. So the overall sturdiness and locking function are more then enough for the purpose. The bracket allows for mounting on the left or right side of the safe. The bracket is a L shaped bracket and if you mount it in the corner/underside of your desk like pictured, it offers just enough space to fit your hand however not much room to visually see the number pad. I did feel like this would be an issue when initially installing the safe but turns out its just enough room to access the pad and open the safe by feel. As long as I keep up on the battery replacements I am confident it will be work when i need it.

Perfect Fit for My Nightstand Setup
This safe turned out to be exactly what I needed for my bedside setup. I wanted something secure but also quick to access, and this does both really well. The keypad is responsive, and the auto-open feature is smooth and fast. I mounted it next to my bed, and it feels solid and well-built. Itโs compact but still fits my handgun comfortably without feeling cramped. I also like the interior light and makes it easy to see at night. For me, it adds peace of mind without being bulky or complicated. Great balance between security and accessibility.

Marginally useful handgun 'safe'
There's good and bad about this gun safe (non-fingerprint version). My conclusion before getting into the details: it's marginally useful if you have kids or grandkids around the house, otherwise don't waste your money. Now for the details (way too long - it's the engineer in me ;-). I looked for a few days, and finally decided on this unit with no fingerprint access after reading in general how many people across the spectrum of various quick-access gun safes had problems with the biometric scanner. Besides, I figured pounding in six digits would go pretty quickly... and it does - it's QUITE FAST and easy to open by combination! An extra star for this! It's slightly difficult to mount. Attaching the bracket to your desk or nightstand is very easy, but I found the thumbscrew inside difficult to get started without cross-threading. I have smaller hands, so while difficult I managed after 3-4 minutes of light cursing. I don't know how someone with big hands could do it. And the batteries... those will be a pain every time I have to change them - I can't imagine there isn't a better way to provide battery access. Minus one star for this recurring, unnecessary annoyance... The combination lock is fast! No need to delay between digits, easy to open in ~2 seconds using a 6-digit combo. By default the unit beeps when a button is pushed, but it can be set to silent. I don't like the 'here I am' beeping sound, but found the silent-mode lack of feedback to be very disconcerting, so left the beep on (a digit lights up when pressed, but your finger covers it and you can't see it). Besides, the sound of the motor opening the box is probably louder than the beeping, so you're giving away your position regardless. With only the numbers 1-4 to choose from it provides marginal protection against curious kids and grandkids. There are two options - a 4-digit or 6-digit combination. Four digits with only four numbers to choose from is only 2^8 = 256 possibilities. A curious kid could stumble upon the combination way too easily for my taste. Using the 6-digit option provides 4096 possibilities - still less than I'd like, but with the 5-wrong-tries = 5-minute lockout protection (which I tested - works as advertised), it's not too unreasonable. Minus a half star. The foam as provided makes the 'natural' movement of inserting your hand and encircling the grip impossible. So you have some less natural options, some of which are: 1) Grab the sides of the handle between your thumb and fingers, then pull up and out until you can re-grip properly; 2) sneak one finger between the foam and trigger guard, pry the gun up and then grip the gun normally and extract; 3) push the gun upwards via the backstock, then grip the gun normally and extract. Of course another option is to cut out some of the foam, which might work for me (smaller hands) but might not for someone with larger hands. Minus a half star. Finally - I was rather surprised to see the following words in the user manual: "Do not store loaded guns in this unit." WHAT??!!!?? What in the world is a quick-access, side-of-night-stand mounted gun safe for if not to access your ready-to-use weapon??? And there's no provision to store a clip separately from the gun. I mean, I know this is obviously CYA for RPNB, but sheesh!! Minus one star for not bothering to mention that fact anywhere in the description of this unit. So there you have it. 5 stars, plus an extra star for the fast combination/opening, minus 3 stars for 'issues', net = 3 star rating. If you have kids/grandkids around, then this unit is probably useful if you are willing to violate the warning in the user manual (this is not an encouragement to do so! My CYA ;-)). Also, use the 6-digit combination option -- I STRONGLY recommend against using the 4-digit combo option - just too easy to stumble onto the right combo! If you don't have youngsters around, this 'safe' is nothing more than a big black advertisement that says "Here's my gun - steal it!", as it would take less than 3 seconds to rip this case off the side of a typical nightstand or desk.
