MINKA-AIREF753-CL Java 54 Inch Outdoor 3 Blade Ceiling Fan in Coal Finish

Love it! Purchased 2 for our porch. Moves air nicely and looks great.

I have 2 of these fans on my covered porch in Florida. It has been less than a year since install. From the day they were installed, one has always been slower than the other. After calling minka, they said the capacitor was bad. The part was on backorder and took over a month to arrive. After replacing the capacitor, the fan will not work at all. You can hear the relay click when the switch is turned on but the fan will not move. All tests (done by an electrician) point to the motor being bad. The quality of minka fans has gone downhill. For $300+ I would have expected this fan to last longer than 10 months. I will replace with a different brand, since this is the 2nd minka fan to fail on me in the past year!!

We have had this unit installed for a several weeks now. It's our experience that the wireless switch box that's installed in the fan housing is malfunctioning on it's own. The fan will shuffle through the various 1,2,3 speed settings in the middle of the night. Which, during the dead of night the house is so quiet the random switching and clicking in the switch box wakes us up. We are basically left with a fan that works during the day with some dysfunction. We won't be using it at night until we can figure out this problem. Will most likely rip it out of the ceiling, call for a refund and buy a different fan.

Weak. Doesn’t blow much air

I researched several fans and manufacturers prior to purchasing a ceiling fan for our new covered outdoor area, and I kept coming back to this particular fan. I was looking for a fan with high air flow capacity. I measured our area to make sure I purchased the appropriate fan size for the area. The specs on this fan indicate that the Air flow capacity on high is 5357 cubic feet per minute. The fan was professionally installed. One must be almost directly under the fan on high to feel any air movement. I have held up a light cloth and walked around the fan to see if I can differentiate between airflow. I am disappointed to say the least. Unfortunately, the fan was not installed until after the return date otherwise, I would have returned. One upside is the fan is very attractive since I am stuck with it.
