It's been 2 days since install on my Maytag dryer, model MED6230HW1. I only needed the element, and it went in easily and fit perfectly. The price of this kit compared to sourced OEM kits is well worth the price. It is 1/4 the price, and with the 30k+ reviews and a 4+ rating, this should be an easy "yes!!". My dryer is up and running perfectly once again....after I cleaned out 22 years of vent duct neglect....which caused the failure to begin with. It took about an hour. The photo is of the dead element that I removed. The new one in this kit is 100% identical and went right in.

Update 02/18/2023: My element burned out again a couple days ago, the element lasted 2.5 years. Purchased in Aug 2020. My dryer is 17+ years old now. I'm going to buy another element (This Item) as I think it's still a good value to keep my old dryer going. It's fairly simple to replace. Family of 5 so it gets a lot of use. --------------------------------------------------------------- 08/2020 ?? So far have done about 5 loads of laundry, and it is working fine. Whirlpool Duet Front Loader Dryer GEW9250PL0 My dryer is nearly 15 years old and this part was really easy to install for me, even my wife was helping, she could have done it herself as she was telling me how to do it. Anyway my dryer is working just fine now. saved me about $1,000 as I was going to buy a new dryer, but didn't want to shell out that much cash.. If you have any mechanical skills at all, and can follow simple directions, you can change out this part. Do the research, pay attention to where wires plug in. Take your time. I also like the fact that I received top star customer service, and did not even have issues with the product. I got an email asking if the product was working okay. I recommend this product, and company. I hope this review is found to be helpful

Easypeasy work great

Arrived quickly. This is the third one I’ve purchased. All parts included but one. The heater coil slid in easier than the second one I replaced last year. Now if this one last longer than the second one. First one I got 3 years. The second one 11 months. It took me 2-3 hours hardest part getting the tube the coil fits in. Getting it in and out of the dryer and the tube. Cheaper than a new dryer Would give 5 stars but time will tell

Its the whole heating kit so you can just change out everything until it starts working lol we have a Kenmore elite

For Maytag MED5500FW1 this is the correct hearing element part number but the fuse and thermostat is wrong. You will need 8318314 fuse and 8557403 thermostat.

I guess I don't really know if I should give the product 5 stars, but the customer service deserves 5 stars. Our dryer quit heating and after about 2 weeks of deciding whether we wanted to invest in a new one. We figured it was worth the $30 or so to at least try to repair it before buying new. The dryer is probably close to 20 years old. We bought the kit after doing a lot of searching to make sure it was the correct kit for our older Kenmore Elite. (I should mention here that the shipping was extremely fast!!!) The element showed no obvious sign of being burnt out, so we bought the whole kit thinking maybe something else was the problem. We have fixed the element for this dryer once before years ago and it was fairly easy, so we decided to do it again. (We did watch a few YouTube videos too, since we were not sure of the exact problem). We first tried just installing the element as it was the easiest. AND.... We had heat!! Yay! We ran the dryer for about 5 minutes and all seemed to be working well!! It was late at night, so we went to bed - actually excited to do wash since it had been 2 weeks. The next morning, we started the dryer and NO HEAT! We thought that seemed odd and decided it must have been faulty, but decided to install the other two pieces of the kit. Hard work and required a lot more effort and time and in the end - it made no difference. So, I asked to return the items for a replacement. The company sent me a new kit immediately and gave me 30 days to return the faulty one. Amazing. Well, the new element was installed, with exactly the same result. Heat for about 5 minutes before the element just seemed to burn out. Soooo, bottom line is that we have no idea why the kit is not working correctly for us. Could be a problem somewhere else I suppose....though there are not really any other parts that could be creating the problem. So, we will return both kits and go buy a new dryer. Sad about having to spend money on a new dryer right before Christmas, but we did get 20 years out of the dryer, so I suppose it is time.

My Whirlpool dryer finally has heat again,thanks to this heater coil. My OEM heater coil lasted for almost 6 years of constant use. I hope this one lasts long as well.

Pour le tiers du prix de la pièce d’origine !!! Le temps nous diras si j’avais raison de l’essayer, mais ça fait un mois que je l’ai installé et aucun problème. C’est tellement facile à installer, cinq vis pour ma sécheuse et 30 minutes de mon temps.

L'élément est passablement facile d'installation. J'ai changé l'élément, il y a un mois. Les vêtements sont bien sec à la fin du cycle. J'ai une sécheuse de marque Whirlpool et j'ai dû changer d'élément 3 fois. Il faut positionner le sélecteur à '' Normal '' et à Heavy duty car j'ai remarqué une surchauffe. Il faut ramasser la charpie aux trois mois à l'intérieure de la sécheuse car pourrait causer également une surchauffe et faire brûler l'élément prématurément. Je ne peux me prononcer sur la caractéristique longévité car trop courte période de temps depuis l'installation. Je recommande ce produit.
