UPDATED REVIEW: DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT! I originally rated this product 2 star with the below review however after less than a month of use: - the suction cups have zero so too left so I’m having to reposition the pump multiple times a day - the power of the pump (which wasn’t great to start with) is now virtually non existent - despite the loss of function of the pump it’s STILL louder than any previous pump I’ve had It’s at the point that I have no choice but to buy a replacement pump - that shouldn’t be the case after less than a month. Once again… do not waste your money on this piece of useless junk! _________________________ Original review: I bought this as some of the other reviews mentioned it being an adequate replacement for their pets drinking fountains. I wish I had ignored these reviews and listened to the ones that complained about noise levels! Sure it fit, was easy to install and the suction cups worked well...but everything after installing has been a negative experience! It looks exactly like the the original pump in terms of size, shape etc. so I can’t see why it would have such inadequate performance in comparison BUT it’s barely powerful enough to actually make the fountain function, and it’s so ridiculously and needlessly noisy - I could maybe understand the racket if it was powerful, but it’s really not, I swear I could make a better fountain spurting the water from my own mouth! It gets the job done, kind of (which I why I gave it 2 stars not 1) but for me it’s absolutely not worth the actual headache to have to sit and listen to the damn thing all day. I would not recommend this product.

The motor is very quiet and good but the water outlet on the one I received was on the opposite side to the one advertised so no good for what I wanted it to fit

Delivered on Sept 26th. Was working really well on the water fountain for my cat for 18 whole days. Yes that was the life of it, it's dead, no longer working. Avoid this at all costs.

This may work well for fish tanks but I bought it as replacement for Cat mate cat fountain. Worked for a week and now it’s so loud it’s nightmare (and it’s not that it’s dirty or anything) just been cleaned DO NOT BUY for pet mate fountains.

Absolutely rubbish, states a pumping high of 1.5m lucky if you can get 0.3m from it.

Bought this pump in the hopes that it'd be invaluable with water changes for the fish tank, didn't need outrageous flow, 50L over the course of an hour or two would have been more than ample. The claims that this has a 200L per hour flow rate and can operate upto 1.5m are complete fiction. 60-70cm of height on the pipes and we're limited to barely a trickle. After an hour of use on max flow setting it's barely managed to shift 4-5L of water. In fact, if I lower the bucket down another 5-10cm the flow rate stops entirely. Massively exaggerated claims of power, huge disappointment. Steer clear if you're looking for a small powerful pump.

I bought 2 as thought i had done something wrong.. i came in from work to a loud squealing noise , not sure how mqny hours this had gone on for . My poor fish . I won't be buying a third one.

Pump spigot on body is a significantly different position to original Catit item, meaning pump does not sit correctly within the lugs at the bottom of the bowl when fountain parts fitted. Pump has insufficient power to match the original (even with max power set on the slider). Window for refund closed ~1 month after purchasing and before I was able to fit (delivered 21/06, window for returns closed 20/07).
