Simple enough
Used this product to repair Lazyboy executive office chair. The seat had a couple cracks that had expanded enough that the leather or leather like material had worn away from the backing. Had cracks across the front of seat but were not really noticeable and some wear areas on the arm rests. The product was simple enough to use. Came with instructions, color chart for mixing, and contact info if support was needed. The company even contact me via email before product arrived to convey they were there to advise and answer any questions I had concerning use of the product. Before purchasing this product, the biggest complaint about other products of this nature was that there was never enough of the color they needed. I guess peoples that complain planned on resurfacing entire living room set with one stock color tube. This is not the case with this product, I probably have enough left over to do the entire chair a couple times. Start out squirting the base color in the mixing cup, then add the corresponding tint colors until the color matches. I got it close on first try, and by that I mean close enough to mend the damaged area before it became a tear. I used the spatula and started applying as instructed, outer edges first toward the middle of damaged area. Let it dry and reapply. After two coats were dry, smoothed out with alcohol and cotton ball. I was pleased with the color blend, but felt it needed a touch of red, which I I didn't have in the brown kit. No worries, just needed it mended to sit on. I tried several different cotton pad, balls, microfiber lens cloths to smooth with. The cotton ball did the best. The more you smooth, the more layers it takes away, and if your a perfectionist, you end up taking too much away and realize there is so much mix left over to go with another layer. This time since the basic mend was accomplished this coat was more for blending purposes. I tried using a plastic razor blade to apply much like you would use spackle or drywall mud. Do a bigger area in one clean swipe. I was pleased with the color match and coverage, but still had lot of left over in mixing cup, so I attacked the cracked areas and arm rests. This stage I used the included brush. Brush was easy to apply, and quickly covered much larger area as well as much more detail in between stitching. I still had lots left in mixing cup, so I gave everything a second coat. Then smoothed with cotton and alcohol. Pleased with color match and coverage, fixed ever minute detail I could find on chair, so went for one last coat to run out what I had mixed. I could have left it at that, but the perfectionist in me kept wanting to do more. While smoothing an area just out of my targeted mend area loosened up and I picked at it to created a new area needed mending. My fault completely, I kept rubbing the alcohol swab across to blend the entire seat with the mended area. I went back to the beginning, except this time used used my experience to make it quick. Started mixing amount I need with the tint color then adding base color. Got close to color match in my case quicker making mix darker rather than making dark lighter as I did on first batch. I used the spatula outside in, then second coat using spatula feathered it as smooth as possible. Didn't get carried away with smoothing and called it good enough. Didn't match as good as first mix, but you can't tell chair has been repaired unless you stick your face right up close. Conclusion: Product well worth $20, SIMPLE to use and customer service is there if you require. Target areas are repaired, self inflicted damage repaired. Lots of spider cracking repaired, arm rests are repaired. Looks nearly new and I should have enough product left to repair this old chair well beyond the expected life of the cushions. I'd buy this product again, if/when i ever run out of compound. I didn't touch the chocolate or white tubes and not much of what I did use. I would recommend buying the universal kit for small repairs just because I still feel a touch of red would have made it exact match.

It Worked for Me and It Didn't Look Too Bad!
The COCONIX Leather & Vinyl Repair Kit offers a range of benefits for those looking to restore their damaged leather and vinyl items. One of its standout features is the customizable color matching, which includes various brown shades that can be blended to achieve a near-perfect match for different leather tones. This versatility makes it effective for both light and dark brown leather surfaces. Additionally, the kit excels in repairing tears, scratches, and peeling, successfully covering cracks, small holes, and surface scratches. It also works to restore faded or discolored areas, enhancing the overall appearance of the item. Users appreciate how easy it is to use; the kit comes with clear step-by-step instructions, allowing even beginners to navigate the repair process without the need for heat or complicated tools. Furthermore, this repair kit is suitable for a wide range of surfaces, including leather and vinyl furniture, car seats, jackets, handbags, and shoes, making it applicable for both genuine and synthetic leather items. Economically, it provides a cost-effective alternative to professional repair services, helping to extend the life of leather goods and potentially saving users from costly replacements. However, some patience is required to achieve the best results, as perfect color matching may involve a bit of trial and error. For deeper scratches or tears, users might need to apply multiple layers, which can be time-consuming. While the kit is effective for small to medium-sized repairs, it may not be the best choice for large rips or severe structural damage. Additionally, the drying time can be slow, sometimes requiring overnight curing for optimal results. Users may also notice a slight difference in texture or sheen after the repair, which might necessitate extra buffing for a seamless finish. In terms of recommendations, the kit is particularly well-suited for minor scratches and peeling, making it ideal for small cosmetic fixes on leather furniture and accessories. It performs well for car seat touch-ups, addressing small cracks and fading in vehicle interiors, and can rejuvenate old or faded leather goods without the need for replacement. To enhance the product further, suggestions include developing a faster drying formula, offering more finishing options such as a gloss or matte finish adjuster, and creating a stronger bond for larger repairs. Overall, the COCONIX Leather & Vinyl Repair Kit is a versatile, user-friendly, and budget-friendly solution for minor leather and vinyl repairs, making it a highly recommended choice for anyone looking to maintain their leather items without resorting to expensive professional options.

Great product
Terrific product. As you can see the damage was on a seam (bad) where no one sits (good). Used the included color chart to do a fair job of matching color. (Chocolate and Black 50/50). Had a question for them and got a quick response. FYI. There is no glue in the kit so I purchased the Locktite vinyl glue. Repairs went as follows. Trimed the white fluff until it didn't stick out around the edges of the tear. Then put couple layers of the vinyl repair along the edge of the tear where the torn flap would no longer cover so that when I laid the flap down there would be no white showing. After 3 thin layers of the product (letting dry 4-5 hours between but it probably dried faster) I glued the flap down using a toothpick to get a thin layer of glue way back past the tear and up to the edges. I used painter's tape to tack down the flap overnight. Since the edge of the flap set higher than the 3 thin layers of the repair product, I used the tiny enclosed "spackle" tool. To apply a final round of the product and level (on a teeny tiny scale) it against the edge of the flap - same as I would a drywall repair. Love the color match. Love the ease of application. Love the tiny spackle tool. Loved this product overall. I only have 2 complaints. I would have preferred a full sized brush. My fat fingers could barely hold it And the repair would have been perfect had there been some way to apply a similar texture to the surrounding area. The smoothness stands out a bit more than it had to. Tried to dapple it a bit but it self-leveled.. Something I normally applaud. Lol. Overall very easy to work with. Love the final result. Will buy again if needed. But they were very generous with their product. Also a plus. Oh the cats? They supervised.

Excellent leather repair kit
The Coconix leather and vinyl repair kit is very easy to use and didn't disappoint with the results. I had some scratches on a saddle that I wanted to cover before they got any worse. The color code grid made it easy to know what colors to mix to get the color that I needed, but initially the brown was just a little too light. I added a tiny bit of black in the mixing cup provided and used the spatula to spread a thin layer over the scratches. At first I was disappointed that the mixture was too dull and stood out next to the undamaged leather, but I buffed it when it dried and added two coats of leather conditioner and now you can't even tell that I "patched" it. I'm very pleased with the results.

Works. Best for small repairs. Requires patience.
I purchased a really high quality leather chair from a friend for $45. The price was so low because it had a lot of scratches across the front legs and pin size holes on the seat where a cat had punctured the leather with her claws. After doing a lot of research on Amazon, I choose this product. You can mix the several colors it comes with to achieve one that matches your chair. ***It dries darker than it goes on wet so think about that before you do it. It has detailed instructions and is made in the USA. I followed the instructions and cleaned my chair first. I tried the mixture I made, using the enclosed color card, on a small hidden area and let it dry. It came out a little dark. So, I remixed and went a little lighter than the color I needed. It tried to apply it with the enclosed brush. The brush was terrible. Luckily I have really good, fine tipped brushes in my craft supplies. With the better brush. I applied it across the thick scratches. For the cat claw holes, I used a very fine pointed tool to press the raised pieces of leather back in and then applied the product in gobs, then removed the excess. It looked great so I rubbed on more until I got a thick enough coverage that it felt smooth when dry. (People, you need to let it dry for a long time- like a day or more. This whole process was over several days because I wanted it to look good, not DIY.) Then I used some alcohol to correct the shine, per the instructions. It looked like new. A few days later, I realized that my cat decided the chair was a perfect sleeping area. How did I notice? Her hair was suck on the area where the product was applied on the seat. (Even though it was dry) So, I got out the rubbing alcohol again and took off all the product on the smooth leather. It stayed in the former holes so it looks great, like new, but the leather is not perfectly smooth anymore because I had to remove the layering I did to cover the feel of the imperfections. Regardless, it is about ten million times better looking than it was before I started. One thing to note, my chair is mottled leather. When you mix the product it is one color, so when I applied a lot of it on the seat, there was one area that wasn't mottled. I solved this by doing another mix and getting the color just slightly different and adding that. However, I ended up having to remove the extra product, as I said before. One thing you should know, the texture is NOT the same as your leather. When it dries (and mine took days because it was humid even though I put on thin coats) it will feel different than your leather. This product would be superstar if they included some kind of top coat layer that dried shiny and with the same texture as leather. I've added before and after pictures. I hope it helps. The short story of my review is that I am happy with what I was able to achieve with this product. It looks good and you can't tell it was a $45 throw away chair. I've put leather conditioner all over the chair now, and the product had no problem with the conditioner.

Coconut Leather Care Pro Brown Kit worked wonders!
I went with this product because of the fact I could blend colors to match my couch color. It turned out that the chocolate color included in the Coconix Brown kit matched my couch perfectly. The glare in the after photo doesn't quite show how well it matched - but it does. Thankfully that worked out but if it didn't I would have had the flexibility to match it. The instructions are pretty clear, but I was weary of the rubbing alcohol taking off color while cleaning/prepping. I realized the harder I scrubbed with the alcohol the more color would come off so I just lightened how hard I scrubbed to remove oils, etc.. If some color is removed it is really no big deal because you will be applying color right over the effected area. I used a car wax applicator pad that has an outer shell of cotton/fabric to apply the new color. I did apply the color is several layers allowing each layer to dry. The product dries pretty quickly - 30 minutes or so. The feel of the new colored area is pretty comparable to the unaffected and original areas of my couch. There is a slight difference. Other reviews I read for other products mentioned that their colored areas would leave a rough surface. This is not the case for the Coconix product. I applied this product Aug. 28, 2020 and it is now Oct. 17, 2020. So coming up on 2 months and the color is still there. My wife and I have 4 boys and they are generally rough on everything and the new color has held up. I am noticing that I probably need another coating of color but that is not due to the color rubbing off. In fact no color has come off on our clothes or anything of that nature. I emailed back and forth with Coconix staff as they offered support in the package and I decided to take advantage of that. Their responses were generally helpful and within a decent response time. Overall, I am very pleased to have chosen the Coconix Brown kit. Our couches were looking pretty worn and now they have a renewed look that will help them last several more years before they need replacing. I think we'll wait until our youngest (age 3) is a few years older. These couches can take the abuse which I can now recolor anytime. Thanks Coconix!

Follow directions and take it slow. Worth the price.
Item arrived as described with no issues. All items listed in the ad were in the box. I’m going to keep this short. Pictures say a lot more than I can. My best advice is to; follow the directions, take it slow test color and your skills on a spot that you don’t see, or won’t be noticed. Once you feel comfortable the repair is fairly easy. Again, follow the directions, especially the part remove any loose material because that will get in the way. It seems like he would want to keep that material, however, do not. It is easy to clean up. It appears durable and should hold up to repair use depending on the area and thickness of application. Depending on thickness, it dries in roughly 30 minutes. Some repairs may require additional applications. Once it’s dried, you can smooth it fairly easily with alcohol. I would recommend this product to others. It a good quality product and easy to use.

Impressive results, excellent product!
Unfortunately I dind’t take before pictures but it completely renovated my leather couches that were covered in rips and scratches and bare patches! Getting the colour right took a couple of attempa as it dries much darker, but there is enough product and colours to match the leather tone almost exactly. I purchased two boxea since I had two couches to restore and I have finished the work with only one box and still lots of spare product. Beyond my expectations, including excellent customee service that contacted me immediatley following my purchase to provide support if neede. I didn’t, it was easy and very effective.

DEALER ECCEZIONALE!
