Lunatik Seismik Suspension Frame Case for iPhone 5 - Black/Smoke

My boyfriend is very pleased with the sleek thin design, not clumsy and super stylish. He cannot stop admiring the special bumper design. Definitely happy with it

Though a little steep in price, it's money well-spent in hindsight. The rubber truss all around is excellent impact protection for my 5S, and the front and back are protected as well. (In the front, the case is raised about a millimeter past the front of the screen.)Aside from the very cool truss all around, I really appreciate the little details in the design:- The slider switch for silencing the phone is manipulated by a trapezoid push-through button that complements the surrounding truss triangles.- The volume buttons are covered by + and - covers...but only the + is raised while the - is recessed, so you can tell by feel which is which.- The lock button at the top of the phone is covered by a PWR button, which is recessed so you can locate it by feel and orient the phone correctly.Sizewize, a 5S with this case on is almost identical in dimensions (length and width when looking at the front) to an iPhone 6.The rubber seems to be getting a little softer each week, so I'll see how much longevity it has sliding in and out of my pockets.I love this case, and highly recommend it for its design, function, and definite conversation-starting appeal.UPDATE (Nov. 3, 2015): About 10 months later, the rubber is much softer all around and worn smooth around what were sharp edges. This case has saved my phone many times, with the phone bouncing on hard concrete and being just fine. As with some other reviewers, the bottom part of the case, on the back, separated from the hard smoked plastic window, but it doesn't affect the protective capability, or charging/syncing of the phone at all.Though it's a little frivolous, I may just buy another case, since its price has dropped by 50% now...probably since the iPhone 5S is now two generations old!

I got one of those a year ago. As far as functionality, does its job perfectly - my phone happens to fall quite often and this case really does provide great protection, no matter the surface. My only problem with it is that it didn't last. With time it kinda stretched out on the left side. The rubber it's made of started peeling in layers. The lower part of it which goes over the phone's bottom just tore in several parts. So now I have to get a new case, which is not great considering the price. Another issue - I got a black one for me and a gray one for my mom. Mom's case is firmer, but it simply always puts her phone into silent mode by fumbling with the mute button. Mine did it sometimes, but not too often, and now it never does for a simple reason (see the photo). So the case's idea is great - it just needs a new, sturdier material. And for newer models (gray is newer) - the issue with the button gotta be fixed.

While it is a little hard to get the phone OUT of the case, once it is in, it adds great protection. This is basically the interior piece of the more expensive cases. It survived several drops, and doesn't allow a bit of dust or gunk into the case.One downside, when trying to get the phone in, it sort of scratced the matte backing of the case. It's not very noticeable, but if you're a perfectionist, it may bother you.

Great design. As an engineer, the truss border tickles my fancy. It does absurd a good amount of impact and looks great. It does make the phone a bit bulkier but it's easy to hold.After over 6 months of use, the bottom part of the truss has un-adhered from the hard plastic shell of the case. This in no way affects the functionality of the case.

Perfect case for those that want a protective case but without bulk.Update after one year. No damage to my phone has occurred despite a few drops. True to form this case protects welll. However after a year of moderate use it is comimg apart.The bottom of the case has split where you plug in the phone. This part of the case is very thin and rubs up against the power cord when plugged into the phone.
