Victorinox Swiss Card Lite Swiss Army Knife, 13 Functions, Swiss Made Pocket Knife with Magnifying Glass, LED and Tweezers - Ruby

As an electronics tech, I always travel around town with a multi-tool cause someone is always wanting me to look at something. Of course, lugging all the little things gets a bit heavy. Since I am starting to walk to the place I have tea twice a day, I am downsizing. Instead of a netbook, I will be carrying the newest Kindle, which will allow me to read, and do internet browsing for parts, etc. The Kindle case is small, but has a zipper pocket, where I can carry my ID, cash, credit cards, and this credit card multi-tool. With the Swiss Army Cyberlite 34 multi-tool, I can build and tear down a computer. Best multi-tool I have ever owned. Now that I am downsizing, I needed something with small precision phillips, as well as standard phillips. This was the only credit card multi-tool that had micro phillips, phillips, and flatblade. Other features which help is the 3X magnifier for reading ultra small print on circuit boards, a light to be able to add just enough light to see into those small dark areas of a computer, and a pen to write down the information. The scissors are great for cutting paper, and are strong enough to cut some thicker stuff, but would refrain from cutting plastic cable ties as it probably wouldn't last long. The knife is nice, though it needs sharpening if you ready need to cut something other than an opening envelope. The tweezers are like all other Swiss Army tweezers. Personally I think they should add a 1/64 inch 90 degree bend on one edge. I think that would help in picking up things and pulling splinters from the finger. The ruler is in metric, and a nice straight edge. Hard to see inside, though easy to read outside. The final item is a straight pin. At first, i could see no real reason for it. Then I remember all the time I need to open a cut that had a splinter inside, and was a bit infected. Perfect touch. This credit card size multi-tool will never replace my Cyberlite, but for on-the-fly stuff, I cannot image a better set of all around tools in such a small package. The only design change I would recommend is to be able to have the light project out of the bottom of the 3X magnifier, though i can see the possibility of damage to the light bulb in the long run.

For the man who has everything, this item seemed like a good gift idea. My thinking was that if he was ever stranded and needed something that one normally wouldn't think to carry, he could just whip out his credit card sized survival kit and be glad to have it. I am a woman and I have a small pocket knife on my key ring that I have found quite useful over the years. It has a knife, scissors, file, tweezers, and toothpick - much like what this item has. Tweezers are good for removing an embarrassing whisker, a splinter, or even a deer tick (which I have used mine for once). Scissors are good to have for that time when you suddenly realize that you forgot to cut the tags off the new garment you bought last night, or if you can't tear a seal or other packaging with your fingers. The file can be used to file a nail or possibly even as a makeshift screwdriver. The toothpick might be critical if you had spinach for lunch and don't carry floss, or it might come in handy if you have to push a tiny reset button and don't have a pen. The knife can be concealed inside a mitten if you feel threatened, but don't want to show the potential attacker that you have a small blade to fight back with. One time, my brother missed a spot while shaving and didn't notice until he had left the house. He borrowed my knife and shaved with it in the side mirror of my dad's truck. You never know what life will throw at you, so carrying a nifty little tool like this is a good thing to do. My key chain pocket knife is very handy, but for someone who doesn't drive and therefore doesn't carry keys around, already has too many keys on their key ring, or is just more likely to be carrying their wallet in any given situation, this item would probably be a better option.

Lots of extras, small tools that may be hard for some to use and not lose or be unable to return the tools in the right lace. Really handy to put into wallet, pen is handy as well as the red light. Lightweight and expensive for what it does and the size.

The Swiss knife card quality is tops and very handy to carry. I've carried one for 20 years and the only reason I ordered a new one is the knife like "letter opener" was confiscated out of my card when I went through airport security. I had been through security many times over many years, but this time it was taken. So, to be safe I recommend packing it in your check on bag. The knife card functions quite well and is handy to use for a variety of functions.

This is a good item to have if you want something more compact than their swiss army knives. It contains multiple tools: Tweezers Screwdriver multitool Ballpoint Pen Metal pin Led light with replaceable battery Magnifying glass Ruler on side in inches and centimeters Letter opener/knife Scissors Overall a good buy. Not TSA friendly due to the blade. You will want the nailcare version which substitutes the knife for a nail file which is TSA friendly.

I really loved this thing, really useful in so many ways. Great little blade, sharp enough to cut me first time I used it backwards (long story, but essentially my fault), functional emergency pen, awesome scissors, usual SwissArmy tweezers, good light on a dark night, and interesting screwdriver tool. Lost the strait pin almost immediately, but whatever.. My big issue is with durability. You'd think something designed to fit in a credit card slot, in a wallet, could survive the trials and tribulations of existing in a wallet. Mine made it 4 months... Then my fat a$$ (6'2", 260) cracked the plastic housing and things just fell apart after that. Since it was cracked, the two sides separated, and everything it usually tucked away snugly became loosely encased. The light failed when the bulb slid out of place, I bent the pen in my pocket, the screwdriver bit made it through an entire wash cycle before destroying my wash machine (repairman found it after a disassembly project... Still a sore subject) and I lost the magnifying glass somewhere along the way. By the time I finally gave up and removed it from my wallet, this little $30 gem and contributed to blood loss, ruining a decent pair of $100 jeans and leaking on most of the contents of my wallet (who knew how much ink that little pen held?), a $275.00 washing machine repair bill (got a sympathetic discount. After all, he learned a lot spending half a day dissecting my wash machine...), not to mention the increased blood pressure. That said, I did get a neat pair of scissors to decorate the bathroom counter, a nearly brand new button cell battey, a cursed screwdriver bit, a spare Victronox tweezers for my classic knife, and a 2-in letter opener. I just don't have anywhere to store them anymore... I tried to fix it with superglue, but could never get the light bulb to seat correctly... Probably buying another one in a few minutes after submitting this review. What can I say, I want to like it. Maybe I'll duct tape the next one before sitting on it. (After all, I've got plenty of spare parts) What could go wrong? Take my money.

My mother bought me an early version of this many years ago and I used it all the time. I was so happy to find this one after I lost mine. Also bought one for my daughter. Both of us have used it several times already. The scissors and tweezers are particularly handy. While I have lots of tweezers, these are very thin and excellent for removing slivers. Can't tell you how many times someone has gotten a sliver and I "rescued" them. The slim credit card size make it great to throw in your purse, wallet, glove compartment, or backpack. Very nice product.

I've purchased and carried approximately 20 different Victorinox Swiss Army Knives. I know pretty much all there is to know about them. I carry this Swisscard everyday of the year with my cash and cards. I love Swiss Army Knives, but I don't like having the little lump in my pocket caused by the traditional 58mm keychain knives like the Classic and Rambler. This is the perfect compromise, and in many ways its better than the small knives because the larger amount of tools. The knife and scissors can be a little awkward to hold and use, and the screwdrivers have basically no reach, but the comfort in the pocket and versatility win out for me. Swiss Army Knives are always personal preference, and the best one for you depends on many variables. Other tools you carry, what you do for a living, and what you do in your free time all affect the tools you value most. I value comfort in the pocket very much, while others value comfort in the hand during use very much.

Love it! Quality Victorinox product. Use it almost daily. Knife, scissors, pen used most. Super handy. Tucks into my slimline wallet. Fits in Altoids tin, if this how you want to store it. Makes a great gift. Couldn’t be happier.
