Ion Audio Pathfinder | High Power All-Weather Rechargeable Speaker (Renewed) (Pathfinder Charger)

Okay, I’ve had this speaker for seven years now. SEVEN YEARS!! These have been seven years of putting this thing through hell. It has survived multiple beach trips, camping trips, river rafting, tumbling around in a truck bed, 4 years of living outdoors 24 hours a day during full time rv travel in all climate zones from deserts, forests, to hard winters. After seven years here’s my honest review: the volume knob does an annoying static sound while adjusting, but EVERY OTHER ASPECT IS STILL PERFECT. Even the LED strip is flawless. Karaoke function still works, Bluetooth is dependable, wireless charger still good, sound quality still excellent, all buttons and display still functional. This thing is the real deal.

I bought this speaker for work, and so far it's been doing amazing. I work in a warehouse freezer with temps around -20° for up to 10 or more hours a day and this speaker has been a champ considering the environment it's subjected to. Also been pretty durable as it's already taken a good smack from falling off my pallet jack. My only complaint is that it could be a little louder, especially with certain songs maxing out the speaker, and I know the newer version of this speaker has a better battery (you could probably swap out for one of those) but for the price this is a great bang for your buck.

Honestly was hesitant based on the lack of overall reviews, and the negative ones which were left. Ordered anyway based on other reviews of the item outside of Amazon. Received the item today. Turned it on out of the box and found the battery was fully charged. This was surprising based on the other comments left from other customers. So far, so good. Sound quality and battery charging are both great. Only "complaint" is that the wheels are covered in what appear to be white paint of some kind. Cosmetic at best, but figured I would mention it as this is a refurbished product.

The wireless charging doesn't work the best for what's out and the battery life dropped a whole day after using it for a month but other than that the sound of the speaker is great! I would recommend with these slight defects

Overall I am really pleased with the speaker. It quite powerful, the battery last a really long time and the sound quality is pretty good for a piece that cost less than 150.00 dollars. I use it on the dock, in the garage and out on islands this last summer. No it is not going to compete with the 4,000.00 sound system I have on the boat or in the house but overall its pretty clean. Only things I would recommend be added are audio controls to try to dial in the sound and the ability to play from thumb drives.

Had this working for about a month. It was pretty nice for the time it was running. Decent audio, kids has fun doing karaoke with it. Battery was getting low so I left it plugged in to charge overnight. It didn't get any charge at all. It won't even turn on while plugged in. Then the fun really began. I attempted to contact Ion customer support via their email. Never got a response from an actual person, but I did receive a survey email asking me to rate my support. I attempted calling around 1pm on a Wednesday. I got a voice mailbox that said support hours are between like 8am and 6pm, (clearly my call was well within the call support window) said to leave a message.. and the voice mailbox was full. I sent another email form, same thing, no response, but I got a survey email a few days later. Made sure i double cheeked my spam box, nothing. Called again, sat on hold for 82 minutes. Finally got a tech, he had suggested I check a fuse, and sure enough it was blown. I told him I'd replace the fuse, but I wanted to a ticket open to make sure if something else was wrong I could get it repaired under warranty. I bought a replacement pack of fuses, installed, and let it sit overnight to charge. Still nothing. The thing won't even turn on while plugged into the wall. I attempted to email the tech back who swore they'd be there to response if anything else happened, no response. Called again, waited on hold for 117 minutes, yeah almost 2hrs, someone answered and said they're closing up for the next 30mins for a break and asked to call me back. Took my info and promised they'd call back at 2:30. Call never came. Called again, after waiting on hold for another 94 minutes i tried the Ion Chat support which was actually very responsive. ~3months after trying to get this thing repaired I finally got a RMA # to send it in for warranty repair. Great right? Reading over the email from the RMA department, they do no cover shipping costs to send in for warranty repair. Unacceptable. The dang thing costs almost as much to ship as it cost to buy. I sent another email back explaining my experience and requesting they cover shipping costs. No response. So here we are, I have a $100 warrantied paper weight. Thankfully the Amazon seller refunded me so awesome on them.. but Ion Audio.. this level of "support" and "warranty" is unacceptable. DO NOT BUY ION AUDIO PRODUCTS!!

Phone charger pad on top of unit stopped working. Wondered why the unit said refurbished on the box. Looks like warranty may have expired. Great sound though.

Absolutely worth every penny. Very portable thanks to the retractable handle and the 2 wheels. Absolutely rocks the jobsite no matter where you sit it. Battery life is just insane. I can go 3 days without a charge 8+hours a day 2 notches below max volume and trust me that's all you need. If you're a fellow roofer looking to jam out on site and impress ur coworkers grab one of these bad boys and crank it up
