It Starts and Ends with eIDP - Create your development plan; No one else should!: The Nine Steps of Creating Your Executable Individual Development Plan

Like many, I considered myself a planner with a 'decent' IDP already in place until I picked up Jasmin's book. Initially, I was intrigued by evaluating whether or not my IDP was still relevant and "Executable." Even in the growing field of project management, this book provided me with clear steps and real life examples to revamp my IDP. More specifically, it helped me map out my strengths and kick start the motivation to setup discovery interviews 1:1 with those I admired in order to strategically fine tune my IDP. I also serve on a non-profit BOD which provides immense experience to fill gaps so that I can reach my potential.Without hesitation, Jasmin has spoken at our local PMI Memphis Chapter on multiple occasions and setup coaching sessions with me (& others) further demonstrating his passion. For me, what started as a focus on my long term career path has now expanded to overall life planning (e.g. getting out of debt, learning to say no, managing stress) to ensure I can 'execute' on my goals. Brilliant read!!!

An excellent read for everyone in today's professional working world. As there are no lifetime careers with the same job until retirement anymore. It is up to oneself to create our own path and plans and present them to our leadership and pursue our own goals. This book provides great instructions on how to do just that. Definitely worth a read.

This is one very amazing book. It is easy to follow writers instruction how to create own eIDP. When you start to read book it is very difficult to stop. You will read it until your eIDP is finished.

Five stars for a process I wish I had followed two decades ago! But thankfully, the steps are still very relevant to those of us who are well into our careers. The method’s first steps involve thoroughly researching and evaluating a career path. The next steps include evaluating yourself, both by internal assessment and seeking external feedback. The last steps focus on formulating and executing a plan to move you from where you are to where you would like to be in your career, based on the foundation laid in the first steps. The thing I like best about this process is the very thorough groundwork it helps a person develop prior to settling on a specific development path. This process guards people against making rash decisions, and gives them tools to develop high-quality career advancement solutions.

Very good book and I would certainly recommend it to all with or without an eIDP. It is structured for readability and ease of following the writers concept and intent. The book outlines a structured and purposeful way how one should create their own executable individual development plan and how each eIDP should be owned by the individual and not be driven by others. Now that I have purchased and read this book, I have taken the first steps to improving my eIDP and now I realize what I need to do next.

Jasmin is an inspirational and positive writer. He lays out the steps very clearly so you aren't overwhelmed by making your Individual Developed Plan. I'm so happy I'm able to use this book and it will be a wonderful resource for years to come.
