What happens to rechargeable battery when fan is stored for a while?

They do go bad after some years. We loved this fan, still use it, but miss the rechargeable option.

how is this newer model ($45) different from the older model for $30 more

Hello, I'm not sure what the "older" model was, ours was a 10" 12v that we loved.The newer model has Smart Power technology. It chooses which power option is most efficient. It will run on AC, DC, has it's own rechargeable batteries and you can also use and addition D-cell batteries. That is something that is now made too clear when you are shopping for them. It has internal batteries and you can add D batterries, so you have the option of 4 power sources. The fan motor is also improved to run on less power...giving you longer run time. It has a USB port also. It is a good fan. I'd shop around, I paid more for ours, but I see you can get them under $45 now.

Is it 110 or 220 volt

The charger indicates an input of 110-240V. The two prongs appear to be for 110 standard wall outlet. So an adapter to 240V could be required.

What is the difference between this model and black and orange model?
