A wonderful product. They were such a great treat less than a week ago (8/24/24) when they were priced at only $2.23 per tin. Not so much now that they are going for $6.49 per tin or a nearly 300% price increase! Goodbye, MW Polar. Best of luck with your new pricing strategy. Update #1: They have gone back down in price and I have now subscribed to them. When I wrote that they were a great treat I meant that they possess the best taste and texture I have ever had. Plus the clear lid lets me ponder how they were packed so perfectly every time I open a new tin. An ideal product for my touch of OCD. 8) Update #2: They have once again hiked the price this time up to $5.04 per tin. After buying them over 23 times, I will, once again, be taking a break from my daily routine, having cancelled my "Subscription". At this price there is little value here. Update #3: Well these folks are at it again! From $2.67 to $4.67 overnight (Feb. 25). Until they get their head out of their collective *sses and settle on a reasonable and consistent price, I will ignore their product! Too bad, too. Still such a great treat.

Fixing breakfast every day is tedious and Eggs are no longer cheap thanks to the orange fool in charge, so I went to canned meats like Tuna and sardines for a quick protein that I don't have to cook and easy to just open and eat. There's tons of sardine brands out there and if you like seafood and had sardines and didn't like them before, I suggest trying multiple brands and flavors - ones cooked in water are much different texture wise than in oil (my preference). Some have bones, some don't. The ones that do are sometime so easy to bite through, that you may not notice them. The tails are so negligible that they should generally break down in your mouth. I think some brands may even keep the heads on. I don't have to worry about anything with Polar's Brisling Smoked sardines - just get a fork, pull the plastic tab and chow down on some quick and easy protein with a nice smoke flavor and just the right amount of salt as is. I'm no dietician, but I imagine these would be healthier than daily fried meats and biscuits. They're the perfect length to just just slap them whole in your mouth, or to put on top of a cracker. Like any oily fish product, they do have a fish smell that near by seafood haters won't care for, so I recommend draining the can in a sink or stuffing so much paper towers to absorb the "Oil Juice" and then wrap the can in more towels before trashing. I don't know why, but it seems like sardines in these "perfect circle" cans are the best.

Really good Sardines! Light smoked flavor at a good price!

I love this product, and intend to keep ordering it. EDIT 6/5/24 product has doubled in price, and I cancelled my subscription. I will buy it at Walmart instead. The fish are beautifully hand packed with clear lidded tins, and the flavor was awesome. Just the right amount of smoke and salt, but without any bitterness or sourness. I also like the fact that the fish are a product of Latvia and NOT from China. The price is very reasonable, too. I suppose the only possible drawback would be the possibility for the clear plastic lid to get punctured or leak, but I don’t think it’s much of an issue. I just wish I could order these in larger quantities.
