Bought this after really enjoying Sally's two previous cookbooks. Her recipes are inventive and interesting, great flavor combinations. However, the two cookie recipes I made from this book (glazed soft maple and brown butter toffee chocolate chip) spread and flattened. They tasted great, however, so I tried again. After reviewing Sally's own comments as to why batter spreads, the only thing I could come up with, is that the ingredients were over-creamed. I am an experienced baker so I followed my instincts and did not follow her directions to cream butter first and cream with sugars again, at medium-high. Instead I creamed butter with sugars on low, with my stand mixer, as I usually do. Result was far better.

A variety of cookies. I’d be interested in making four of the eight, I think. May see if the library has her full book but not sure I’d buy it.

Absolutely fabulous cookbook with great tips and information from cover to cover. I can't wait to try all the tasty treats in this cookbook (despite having quite a large collection of cookbooks already). I'm learning about cooking cookies; information I never knew. And it makes sense in helping me have amazing cookies. This is definitely a gift I will be giving throughout the coming year to family and friends.

There is nothing like a good cookie recipe, I love this book and there are also some really good tips can't wait to get started, I am a fan for life me and my grandchildren are going to have fun
