Good basic cup of coffee
First off I will start by saying that I like to drink my coffee black so the flavor comes through and I normally use whole beans and grind it fresh every morning. Simply put the quality of coffee and flavor is important to me. That being said I did not take any stars away for this being ground as I knew that’s what I was testing. Many people enjoy ground coffee and the convenience of it and that is perfectly great! I gave it four stars as it’s over all a good tasting cup of coffee. However there’s nothing special or outstanding about it either. It is considered a medium-dark roast coffee. Flavor was fairly smooth and bold enough for me. Had a little bit of bitter taste as Most dark roasted coffees does but not bad at all. For freshness they recommend using all the coffee within one week after opening. Being just a 10 ounce bag that is very doable if you’re drinking coffee every morning. Comes in your typical bag with fold down top and bend over fasteners. Sidenote: the side of the bag is printed for all their coffees with whatever coffee they’re putting in the bag type of sticker on front. Just to clarify I saw one review state that it had artificial flavors in it, it does not. It states that there is artificial flavor in the flavored coffees. It also goes on to talk about the decaffeinated coffees, Both of which this one is not. This one from my understanding is just coffee. Nothing added. That is important to me. There is nothing on the bag stating where the beans are sourced from (just mountain regions) or processed. This coffee is distributed out of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Again I personally like to know where my coffee is actually coming from as some areas definitely are prefered over others both for flavor and chemicals added in the growing process. This coffee is not labeled organic or fair trade. Overall a good cup of basic coffee.

Rich, bold, strong — good!
I wasn’t sure what to expect with Lovesome Ground Coffee (French Roast). For one, I always use whole beans and grind them every morning to brew.Opening the bag, the ground beans smelled pretty good—not an overwhelming coffee scent, but once you grind the beans you lose a lot of that. However, it didn’t smell stale at all so I was encouraged.I like rich dark coffee—strong and black. This Lovesome French Roast did not disappoint, and I was pretty surprised at how good it tastes—I’m drinking it now as I write this review. I compare it to the Starbucks French Roast whole beans I’ve used for a really long time, and the Lovesome is just as good; again, surprising since it is a pre-ground coffee.I was worried a medium-dark roast wouldn’t be rich and bold enough for me, but surprisingly it is!The price is not showing and when I searched for Lovesome coffee, a whole lot of K-cups showed up—I abhor K-cups! Bad for our landfills, and taste is meh. So I can’t compare price value compared to my starbucks or any other coffees I’ve tried.I’d definitely consider ordering this again, once it is available. And, I’d try some different roasts, as well. All in all, a strong, bold, rich dark cup of coffee that I’m enjoying much more than I thought I would!

Good Coffee if You Like It Bold
I take my morning coffee big, black, bold and bountiful. But I’m not a fanatic about it. I don’t roast my own beans; I tried it once and found it to be more work than it was worth. I don’t grind beans to order every day; I usually grind enough for a week or so at a time. And I abhor K-cup coffees; I refuse to own a Keurig machine because of the non-recyclable waste and because I’ve never had a decent cup of coffee from anyone else’s.So, with that said, what did I think about this Lovesome French Roast Ground Coffee? It’s a bit of a departure for me in being ground rather than whole-bean, but it’s really pretty good. It doesn’t have that much of a big coffee aroma when you open the bag or when it’s brewing, but it makes up for that in its strong, bold yet smooth flavor. “Smooth” is the operative word here. Despite being a medium-dark roast, it has no hint of the acidity or bitterness that some dark-roast coffees can have (“not that there’s anything wrong with that”). The aftertaste is smooth, pleasant and lingering.Given how subjective taste sensations are, you may find this coffee to be the opposite of what I describe. But for this fan of big and bold brews, it does the job admirably.YMMV, of course.

Tasty
This is a very nice coffee. I can't say if it's a good value for the price because a price isn't listed on Amazon at this time.On opening the package, it smells nice - not overpowering, just a pleasant coffee smell. We prefer ground coffee because we had a number of the "grind 'n brew" coffee makers and they kept breaking, so we are always hunting around for decent ground coffee (grinding separately annoys my wife). The flavor of this coffee once brewed is excellent. Strong and bold, certainly, but not overpowering as some dark roasts are. I drink my coffee black, and this has a good balanced flavor.OK - so other reviewers can tell you all about hints of brown sugar or what have you. I can't. I can say that this coffee tastes good, without being overpowering. One thing to consider - this coffee isn't organic. I've read a lot about excessive pesticide use in some coffees, and for that reason I try to get organic where possible. That's a personal preference, and I doubt it affects the taste much, but it may be important to some people.Overall, this is tasty coffee. I'll certainly consider getting it going forward.
