Good product for the price
I’ve only had this depth gauge for a couple days, but right out of the package there were a couple things I didn’t like. The gauge has some good weight to it and works well. It is accurate, easy to read and easy to use.The only issues that I have with this product are as follows1. Upon opening the gauge out of the package, I immediately noticed the ruler had some light rust on it. Not a huge deal, but I was not happy to see it.2. The slide was pretty hard to move at first, but after using some oil at work for lube, it started to move much easier. As an overview, this is a great product for the price, however there are a couple of things to be on the lookout for.

Works great now
I had some spare time to tinker around- about an hour so I took it to my shop.Tool was extremely rough and difficult to slide the measuring gauge through. The mechanism that hold the depth gauge was hanging up, biting into the housing, and causing the ruler to bind.I tool needle files and cleaned the track bottom and sides. I rounded the split assembly to remove burrs with 220/ 1000 grit .....buffed off the blackened "finish" which was either paint or sone coating that felr more like old hardened grease and dirt.Used Dremel and wire brush bit to clean the paint off the adjustment screw.Threw some gun grease in the tightening assembly.Buffed and smoother the body.Smooth as butter now. For < $10.....this is a little gem.

Good product
Piece is heavier built than I expected, which is a good thing. I don't use the one I have for measurements, just gaging tools and parts at work. Very pleased and expect it will last a long time under normal use.

Handy
Cheap yet seems to be good quality. Use it around the shop and it’s very useful.

Look like it was machined in 1900 not 2024
When I took it out of the package I thought I had been sent an antique well worn tool. The machining reminded me of my grandfather’s tools from the early 1900’s. The rule could not slide freely in the machined groove (even after some work on my part), the markings on the base were barely readable and the knob/spring mechanism was extremely difficult to advance or back out. The tool I received was a terribly manufactured simple tool. Sorry to leave such a bad review but this tool and company deserve it.

A bit flimsy, but works.
This is a pretty average tool. It works for what it does but is fairly thin metal and could probably bend fairly easily if not stored properly.
