as the other review also said, i also got mine at big lots (although mine is a pink one) for $20. i got it because i wanted a backup for my other flatiron (as i drop everything), the pretty box and info on the box sold me over. i have to say i really like it and have switched it over to my primary one. heats up real quick and stays hot. the floating plates make full contact, which most irons ive owned havent even though those were floating as well, so thats good. i have thick hair and it still straitens quickly requiring about 3 pass through's before its done and i have wavy/curly hair. i use it on about 375 and doesnt damage my hair. i would mention that it will crackle or pop every time it heats up but i feel this is because of the crystals heating up and expanding and is nothing to worry about. over all i love it and would recommend it.

I tried this model today at home. I bought mine at big lots in fort Payne, AL. It is purple. I read the instructions. I recommend doing this before use. I sprayed some organix keratin flat iron spray on my hair, pinned it up. Flat ironed it twice. I had it on the 250 degree range. I have fine baby thin hair. I use salon brand shampoo, silk drops, and salon brand thickener. My hair looked amazing! It didn't damage it too much. My hair did fall out some, but, I expected even on a low heat setting it would. If you are afraid it'll fall out, do not use this until your hair isn't so weak. Mine is weak, so, it does shed.
