Hay was super fresh and not a lot of dust and crumbs. Bunny liked it more than other brands. Bought the 12 lb box and it was packed tightly - felt like I got way more than my money worth. Will buy again. May try the 3rd cutting but smaller box.

My rabbit really likes this hay. Great quality and great quantity! I highly recommend getting this brand for your bunny’s diet. I had purchased a different brand and my rabbit would only graze on it. When I fed him this brand, he eats it fast. Better quality and fresh

I've been ordering Small Pet Select hay for quite awhile now, and while the hay is great, the customer service is even better. With hay being a natural product, there are inevitably going to be issues once and awhile. Each time the Small Pet Select crew have gone above and beyond to help, and they are incredibly easy to get ahold of. I've usually contacted them over FB with a message to their business page and they are very quick to respond. Now, onto the hay. The 2nd cut timothy hay they offer is not only the best hay I've been able to find, it's often cheaper than others when I buy in the 20 or 25lb boxes. It's always a lovely shade of green, and the smell is just so perfect! My chinchillas and bunnies are always so excited for "Fresh Hay Day!", which is the day the new shipment of hay comes in. With my two chinchillas and two rabbits (one of them being a 14lb continental giant!), I go through about 20lbs every 6 to 7 weeks, so being able to get this quality and quantity of hay shipped right to be has been a blessing. And speaking of shipping, it often arrives quicker than Amazon estimates, usually only taking two to three business days after it ships from a SPS warehouse. (They don't store their hay at Amazon warehouses, they ship from one of their own warehouses. I asked them myself, so don't worry about getting hay that's been lingering in the Amazon warehouse for forever!) My little critters just eat it right up, and it keeps their tummies happy and consistent! The strands are often really long which the bunnies love, but can be too much for the chinchillas to handle, so I tend to cut bundles in half length wise for the chinchillas. A good pair of kitchen or garden shears is best for this if you choose that route. Just make sure they're clean. TLDR; Great hay, even better customer service. Order it!

I like the giant size. Came late which I wasn't happy with. Nothing broken, it smells good and no bugs. Con: it's messy, and it came brown. Some of the pieces weren't good at all and because it's too big I can't just carry it to there hay dispenser. I have to put in a bag and then carry it. I would have been much more happy at 2 6lbs rather than 1 12 lbs. So, for that reason 3 stars. The pros: economically friendly. They OHCOOL hay that they like is a splurge. It's not cheap. So, they need another brand. While I have that one on a monthly subscription I am still looking for a cheaper alternative. They didn't like the Kaytee one. I am not sure if they like this, yet. but this one will not be a monthly subscription just bc of the cons. Will comment further on if I notice that they like it. I just received a few days ago. Update Friday Oct 25th. I have had this for awhile. It seems well received by all my bunnies including the new 1 I got on Sept 13th. Once it was half way down I put the left over Kaytee brand that they don't like and I mixed it in and they didn't seem to notice. Once done, it's about a quarter and I mixed there new Oxbow hay. Bc of the high calorie, so they have a mix. I will continue to buy this and just mix hay in. So, if I buy the Kaytee brand it should go unnoticed. They still pick and choose but not as bad as bf. I also upped my review to 4 stars bc they were able to eat the Kaytee brand. I did buy a new shelving unit for this product only, ugh. That's okay, it fits nicer andi transfered some of they hay into bags

I’ve always had a great experience with Small Pet Select—it’s always a win in our house. My bun goes crazy every time he gets a fresh new box. After ordering all three cuts, I’ve noticed my bunny definitely prefers (and goes more crazy over) 2nd cut. I had gotten 1st cut the past two times, then just switched back to 2nd cut again, and this time I noticed I can’t seem to keep his hay bin full. By the time I go to refill it, there are literally just scraps left. So now I know—it’s 2nd cut for him. I’ve bought 1st, 2nd, and Value, and they’re all good, so I definitely recommend trying them all to find the cut your pet likes best. I usually get the 10–12 lb box, and it lasts my single bunny a long time since I fill his bin once a day. The 2nd cut still has a lot of the toppers my bun absolutely loves, and the nice, firm/hard dry hay is great for his dental and gut health—definitely a must-have for bunnies. I know there are some reviews mentioning issues, but it’s important to note that this is a great company and what they stand for is amazing. Things happen, and it’s ultimately our responsibility to double-check what we give our pets. We check our kids’ candy at Halloween (and in general), so why wouldn’t we check what we give our pets too? They also offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee—if you’re not happy with your box, you can get your money back or a replacement. I personally haven’t had any major issues. One box had some hay that was a little on the browner side, but there was still plenty of good hay. I just left what I didn’t use in the box, tossed it later, and still felt like I got my money’s worth. Absolutely love Small Pet Select!

Hi small pet owners! I typically do not write reviews but I feel like I had to this time in hopes of helping someone out. I have been ordering this hay more consistently since October 2024. I have gone through a few 10 pound boxes and I have noticed the quality of hay diminishing. It’s very hard, brown, dusty and smells “old” if that makes sense. I have kept ordering it because I believe in Small Pet Select and I love what they stand for. Plus, my guinea pig in the past loved their hay and my bunny seems to have enjoyed the first box. The most recent box I have (see pictures) has so much brown, old, stale hay. But I thought it just came like that, UNTIL I found out that there is a major difference from ordering through Amazon compared to ordering from Small Pet Select DIRECTLY (see pictures). I am pet sitting for my brother and I noticed that his box of hay barley has any brown and it’s so lush, green and sweet smelling. That’s when he told me that he orders directly from Small Pet Select instead of Amazon. I WAS FLOORED and also extremly disappointed in this multi billion dollar company. Our pets deserve the best and if Amazon cannot provide their customers with the same quality as the original retailer then there’s a problem. If you made it this far then I hope you will join me in no longer ordering hay through Amazon and instead order directly from the source, in this case, Small Pet Select. It may be more expensive but the quality is worth it. Please, take it from someone that has made the mistakes so you wouldn’t have to. This is a huge box of premium hay for all types of small animals. Perfect for eating and also can be used for bedding. Its hand packed In to the box and it's super fresh. It smells amazing and it's all natural. No added ingredients. Its easy to use. We have guinea pigs and immediately they started grazing on it.

Spesso vado in fattoria e compro una balla che fra un po' non sta in una grossa macchina e fra un po' manco si vogliono far pagare, per dire. Alla fine riempo una macchina con 20€ e sono contenti. I wasn't sure about buying this at first because it is almost 2-3x more what I pay for local hay, however I was getting frustrated at the inconsistency and usually a lot of browned hay I was getting. This is my first order of SPS hay but I am completely happy with the quality of hay that was in the box. Not only is it a nice deep green, but there is minimal dust and a lot less broken pieces, longer strands for optimal munching! I do see less wasted by my buns, usually they will leave a lot of broken pieces in their box. EDITED I have 3 buns and this box lasted me about 3 weeks!

heureusement je l'avais commandé avant le reblocage des frontières du royaume-uni. super foin, très bien emball" dans une belle boite en carton, livrée telle qu'elle. mais le livreur du dpd l'a déposé dans un point relais sans passer à mon domicile.. grrr;.. à3 bornes de chez moi...Bon sinon très satisfaite mais mes lapins ne se ruent pas dessus. à défaut d'autres qui sont moins épais et plus courts... dommage. Moi je le trouve très vert et avec des bouts de plantes et herbes séchées.. top quoi. mais c'est pas moi qui le mange. par contre superbe odeur..je le mettrais bien ds ma terre d'oreiller pour faire de beaux rêves .. :-)

I’m so happy that this is shipped to SG! I’ve heard so many good reviews from overseas but never really had the chance to try this brand. Needless to say, our buns were so happy with the new batch of hay! They immediately hopped on to the buffet of hay when I opened the box (yes, upon delivery, they knew it was for them). Can I say that the hay was so well packaged too! Not damaged in any way! Hay was top notch quality, super green and fresh! Do note that there’s quite abit of stems so your bunnies can’t be too fussy! It’ll definitely be one of my repeated purchase!

I have been a long time Small Pet Select customers. We have been using for 6 years since we were in USA and now in Dubai. This is the third time i purchased the hay after we cane to Dubai, the previous 2 times what not bad but not good. We bought the 2nd cut, but when we received it, it seems like it was mixed with both 1st and 2nd hay. But it is ok my buns still happily eating it. This time when we received it, after have been waiting for 2weeks, we were excited to open the box but soon disappointed to find brown and wet hay full of ants , It has damp smell too. Seems like it has been in the storage for a long time and not taken proper care at stowage. Unfortunately there is nowhere i can upload the pic for videos here. I tried to contact the seller immediately but no reply at all. I have request for refund and replace from Amazon but there is not refundable nor replacement. There are very good reviews but the customers are not from UAE. Be aware if you decided to buy.
