Leak Protection
I’ve been using Hartz Home Protection Dog Pads for a few months now and overall, they’ve been a reliable solution for indoor potty training and managing accidents—especially helpful during bad weather or long workdays. What I Like: • Odor Control: The lavender scent is subtle but effective. It doesn’t mask smells completely, but it definitely makes a difference in keeping the area from getting unpleasant. • Leak Protection: These pads do a great job with absorption. The quilted design locks in moisture quickly, and the plastic backing prevents leaks onto the floor. Even when my pup uses the same spot more than once, the pad holds up well. • Size Options: They come in multiple sizes, which is great depending on your dog’s breed or crate size. The XL ones are especially helpful for bigger dogs or multiple uses. • Affordable: Compared to some premium brands, Hartz offers solid performance at a budget-friendly price. What Could Be Better: • Edge Leakage: Occasionally, if my dog pees close to the edge, there can be some runoff. A slightly wider absorbent border would help. • Pad Movement: They don’t always stay in place on hardwood or tile floors. I’d recommend using them with a pad holder or anchoring them down in some way. Bottom Line: If you’re looking for dependable, cost-effective pee pads with good odor control and strong absorption, Hartz is a solid choice. While not perfect, they get the job done and are a great option for potty training, older dogs, or apartment living.

Peace of mind for hard working dog owners/lovers.
Thank goodness for these pads. We just adopted a Shih Tzu from our local humane society last February and when we first got her, we didn't leave her alone for more than 3 or 4 hours at a time... always scheduling a lunch break so we could run home and let her out to go to the bathroom and check on her. Luckily we live about five minutes from work so that was possible. Our dog is VERY attached to my wife and doesn't like to be without her for too long. Well, in the last few months our business has really picked up and we have been forced to stay at work for longer periods of time. Thankfully the family who owned our dog previously trained her well to be housebroken and also to use pads if she cannot get outside. Also the humane society generously gave us a package of generic pads to take home as part of an adoption take home package. We did use those at first and they were fine. When we ordered these recently on Amazon though, I started putting one Hartz pad down beside a generic pad when we left. To my surprise, Gracie (our Shih Tzu) chose the Hartz pads every single time, if she had a choice. My wife and I really do prefer these pads to the cheaper ones. They are thicker and more durable, as well as having a better border around the edge to prevent leakage over the side. Every once in a while, Gracie will get too close to the edge and these almost always catch everything so we don't have to do any cleanup on the carpet. With these pads, if we get held longer at work, at least we can rest easy knowing that she can have a place to relieve herself and that when we get home there won't be a mess to clean up or a bad smell to deal with. My wife has a very sensitive nose and she hasn't ever been able to smell a lavender scent from these, BUT she also doesn't smell the pee. :) The pads seem to lock in the smell along with the wetness, which is great. Also, even though these are a little more pricey than some cheaper versions, they are worth the money and not too bad of a deal when you buy 100 at a time. We have been extremely happy with these and will definitely purchase them again.

Useful for my needs, can't beat the price
I have a cat, that for the life of me, and for reasons that are wholly his own, refuses to use the litter box unless it's sparkling clean; I'm talking fresh litter and a scrubbed out box. I don't know if it's him being a Pica kitty (cats who like to chew or eat non-food items), but I've been fighting with him about this for over a year. I kept finding new places that he found to use as his private potty, cardboard boxes were a favorite, empty or not. It was only recently, after our move into an apt, that I finally understood this little quirk. What I had attributed to occasional upset or stress over his adoption and our moving was really an aversion to a "dirty" box, though he will poo in it, go figure. After cleaning up yet another mess, this was getting old, I finally eradicated the smell (Rocco and Roxie enzyme cleaner works wonders). I didn't want to undo my hard work so I put one of the pee pads that I use in the cat box (Tidy cat Breeze pellet system. A godsend for those with disabilities since taking care of a traditional litter box can be hard) along the wall where he frequently likes to go. He did his business on it and then crumpled it by trying to bury it, tearing the plastic so it can't be used in the litter box system. He only peed a little and there was a whole other end to this pad that could be used. Did he use it? Noooope, true to his nature, he can only use it once and needs a clean one for every time. So I've got a few strategically placed to lessen the chance that he'll go on the carpet. So began my search for pads that were fairly inexpensive and large quantity. I found these and thought $5! What a steal! So I ordered three, in case the price changed. They arrived on time and discover that there were a bonus of two more pads per pack. I put them out on all the usual places and they work fine for my overly picky feline. He hasn't been able to put any holes in the back lining. And despite their size he still only uses one at a time I've read where some ppl complain about the smell. Well, to me, it's a light lavender scent. I'm sensitive to perfumes and cleaners and I don't really smell them. They are thin, very thin. You look at them and think "how can this possibly stop urine, much less catch it.". Well it seems to work. Now mind you I'm only using these for a single cat. So I imagine that the urine load is a bit less than what an average dog puts out. I did notice what seemed to be bare spots in some of the pads, where the inner material does not fully cover the area of the pad, see pictures. They also seem to have a rather large side wall and if I'm not careful in placement he will pee on the edge and it will slide off and onto the carpet. These aren't bad and so far have suited my needs so I would buy again.

I buy these for an animal rescue society I support. These are there go to and requested pee pad. There are lots of brands out there but this is the brand the rescue uses with all its fosters. Great absorption and smell reduction. If you know an animal rescue I encourage you to buy these for them. They will be grateful for your donation!

This is the thinnest pee pad I ever had. The advertise thickness was not true! The pads seems like there os only 1 layer of it. Very useless pads!

Estos pañales para perro son de buena calidad ya que resiste todo un día, el único pero que les pongo es que son de tamaño pequeño/mediano en comparación con otras marcas que probado inclusive las de Amazon. El aRoma que tienen es muy agradable

Such a bonus to have a natural lavender scent on these pads, which are very absorbent & do the job well. The size is as described, and these are handy, as well, just to quickly mop up spills.
