Woman WithinPlus Size Arctic Parka Jacket & Hood 34" Long Down Blend Winter Coat

I have been hunting for the perfect WARM olive colored coat for a year now since moving to northern WI. This is a heavy duty winter coat! It’s quite heavy and big, but also super cozy and warm. Kept me nice and warm ice fishing all day. Too warm and heavy to be super active in, or to wear in the car for more than a quick trip to town on the coldest days. Runs big compared to department store coats in the same size and I could have probably went down a size but I really dislike tight coats. LOVE that it can unzip from the bottom up for driving. Lots of pockets. I tend to somehow accidentally unbutton the fur on the hood regularly but that would be my only slight complaint/annoyance, and if it bothers me too much going forward I’ll just remove the fur. ;)

I’m 5’8 and a size 18 with a large chest. I ordered the large plus according to the size chart and it fit perfectly. The coat is very warm and windproof, which is perfect for Wisconsin winters. The reasons I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 are: the double zipper is tricky, the coat is heavy and stiff (I assume it’ll soften over time), and the hood is comically large, so it’s hard to get my bag over my head when I’m wearing the coat. All in all, for the price this coat is an amazing value, and unless you want to spend $200+ you’re not going to find a warmer windproof one.

The coat is wonderfully warm even in the below zero temps we are having here in northern Minnesota day and night plus high wind chill numbers. Zipper can be troublesome trying to get it started but does zip easily once connected. It's a heavy coat when you pick it up and I wouldn't want to carry it around very long but wearing it is okay. The outer shell makes cracking noises like a stiff plastic can make but the coat looks really nice. Nice deep pockets too. The fur around the hood is wonderful at keeping the wind and snow out of my face. I would buy this coat again.

This coat is absolutely ENORMOUS. I sized down and am not only completely lost in the coat, it weighs a TON. That said, it is very warm and the color red is beautiful. Rather than return, I will donate to a shelter.

i purchased this coat for my mom, she loves it!feels durable and warm.

I'm 5'5'' , 230 pounds and my hips are 54". This 3x coat is very loose on me, especially around the hips. It fits my shoulders comfortably with room to spare , even with long underwear and a sweater on. I purchased another brand from Amazon (that's made in Canada) also in 3x and both were delivered the same day, so I was able to do a comparison., This coat does run larger than the other brand. For weather, it was + 20° and slightly windy & I was comfortable. The " woman within" parka which blocked wind from coming through the torso better than the other brand that doesn't have thinsulate. My quess is it's the Thinsulate that did the better job. I love all the pockets, I only wished they had put zippers on the hip pockets ( they do on the extra long 2x version of this parka) to keep my keys in. I did end up returning this 3x and am waiting for a 1x to see if that fits (1x showed up today & I can wear this size also but likely not enough room to wear bulky layers comfortably , especially in the arms. I will be able to wear this coat on the warmer cold days. I'm still very pleased with product.).I did keep the other coat made in Canada because it's a little longer and has a slimming look but it doesn't have as many pockets, I need multiple coat lengths, as I'm in Minnesota in farm country & the right protection from weather is key to my health. I would highly recommend this line of coats, great functional design & warmth. If you buy one and it's stiff when you put it on remember the manufacturers put starch on the product to keep it looking fresh until the consumer buys it, so wash it (fallow manufacturer directions). Arms and bodice had plenty of room for layers & quality looked good, including the fur on the hood. I hope this helps, it's really hard buying a coat on line. FYI, woman from within is only sold online according to woman within's customer service & this company use to be Lane Bryant.Amazon pricing (what I paid, anyway) for this coat is less than half of MSR, so a great deal.

This is the perfect Winter parka. It's very warm and well made. I ordered the large in the gunmetal gray. It fits perfectly except for the sleeves, which are a little bit too long. I normally wear an extra large top from JCPenny's or Kohl's, which is typically a size 16/18. Woman Within's large is an 18/20 and it fits well. I have enough room for a sweater or sweatshirt, but it's not huge on me. I weigh about 160 pounds and I'm about 5 foot 3. I'm apple shaped, so I take a bigger size in tops than bottoms. I'm only a size 12 in pants. I know this coat will serve me well. Great buy. If you live somewhere with really cold Winters like I do, this is the coat for you. Highly recommend.
