Bought from BN Products - March 2016. Good to Dec 2020. So good for 4 1/2 years not 7.

Why is this item marked as ($0.97/oz)? Shouldn't it be per count, like the other battery items?

If I order today, August 12, 2018, what would be the expiration date on the shipped batteries?

I can only tell you that I ordered a bunch of these at least a year or two ago and I checked one and it had an expiration date of 12-2022. I have been very satisfied with them. Maybe I'm just lucky but I have never had a 9v battery leak, no matter how old it was.
