You only need to pay yearly if you want support, which includes firmware updates. If you don’t keep a support contract live, the system will still work, just no updates or support

Can I install Unleashed firmamre on this?

I would assume so if you have the unleashed firmware. I've always gone the other direction from unleashed to smartzone managed. Can manually upgrade via web interface of the AP using default IP / username / password.

Will these R710 APs have firmware compatible with Ruckus cloud installation?

Ours (NetEquityRenewed) are running the Zoneflex software, version 104.0.0.0.1347. These devices are currently supported for Ruckus Cloud.
