I would be very cautious, heating oil is dangerous, not only because of the fire risk but you could end up poisoning yourself on the fumes.

Tavelling from uk airports, can this and the cannisters be transported on planes, if so hand or hold luggage?

I have travelled 3 times with one and each time no issues in the hold
